Francesco Zerman

Postdoctoral Researcher in Number Theory

Since May 2024 I am a Postdoctoral Researcher at FernUni Schweiz/UniDistance Suisse under the direction of Prof. David Loeffler.

In February 2024 I obtained my Ph.D. degree in Mathematics at Università degli studi di Genova, under the supervision of Prof. Stefano Vigni.

In July 2020 I obtained the Master Degree in Mathematics at University of Padova, under the supervision of Prof. Matteo Longo.

You can find my CV here.

Research interests

My main research area is algebraic number theory. I am interested in the arithmetic of Galois representations, in particular those coming from elliptic curves and (families of) modular forms.

My current work is mainly about building big Heegner points and Kolyvagin systems attached to Hida families of modular forms, with an eye on applications in order to bound Selmer groups and to obtain results about the Iwasawa main conjecture in this setting.

I am also interested in the explicit computation of some invariants (Hilbert-Kunz multiplicity and F-signature function) associated with rings of positive characteristic.
