Assistant professor at the Tilburg School of Social and Behavioural Sciences, Tilburg University
I am a psychologist interested in the mechanisms that underlie cognitive processes, in particular learning and memory, and I am fascinated by how these processes are implemented by the brain.
I have always been passionate about statistical models and I recently developed a genuine interest in computational models. I am currently using computational, behavioural, and neuroimaging techniques to investigate the relationship between extracting regularities in the environment and encoding distinct episodes.
I am also interested in the mechanisms that regulate affective states and mood, how they interact with cognitive functions, and whether this interaction changes during the lifespan.
I have recently started to investigate cognitive and computational mechanisms underlying depressive symptoms and psychopathic traits.
