When tourists come to Cleveland they often ask what restaurants are good and if they're worth dining at. Marble room has been voted as Cleveland's number one restaurant for the past two years. Besides the food being absolutely incredible the ambiance is amazing. The building was built in 1893, but opened in 1896 by President Garfield's son as a memorial to him. Now, since the building is incredibly old, it was not always a restaurant. Up until 2017 the marble room served as National City Bank. This bank was one of Cleveland's many hidden gems.
While deciding what to do with the beautiful space, the owners were able to save lots of meaningful and awesome items. Located when you walk are massive high-top tables that were once bank teller tables! They have many private rooms that make you feel as if nothing has ever changed!
"The original design by Shepley, Rutan & Coolidge and 1915 Beaux Arts-renovation by Walker and Weeks give Marble Room an elegant, classic feel, as with these Corinthian columns. Contemporary touches like peacock rugs and animal print chairs give it a modern edge." (John Petkovic, The Plain Dealer)
This room is located on one of the upper levels inside of the Marble Room. In this space the old bank executive would sit and do all of his work. This awesome room faces Euclid ave and entrance to the building
The Vault is the coolest room! So many historical objects are in space. The bar in the back is made out of original safety deposit safes!
This room is located in the front facing Euclid Ave on the first floor. It is a very large room that allows guests to feel as if they are having a meeting back in the 1900's. Very elegant!
