About Us

Frances- Rees Construction is a residential construction company with many years' experience in residential construction. My name is Tim Frances-Rees and I have lived in Timaru for most of my life. I studied and qualified as a carpenter and joiner in Sydney, Australia where I earned my carpentry gold card. I worked for a high spec renovation company, Federation Renovations, in Sydney where we completed some high profile renovations, before going out working for myself. On return to New Zealand, I worked first for Joseph Builders and then for Chris Broadhead Construction. This covered a period of 10 years where I was foreman on some beautiful architecturally designed houses, some of which won awards. After this I went back out on my own again and focused mainly on new houses. In 2013-15 I studied full time at Otago Polytechnic where I graduated as a quantity surveyor and construction project manager. I then worked for McRaeway Homes as senior quantity surveyor for six years until the end of 2021.

I am a Licensed Building Practitioner, Member of the Certified Builders and a Member of the New Zealand Institute of Quantity Surveyors.

At the end of 2021 my son Daniel was wanting to take up a carpentry apprenticeship and I was itching to be on the tools again. So we set up Frances-Rees Construction and we are now available to make your world beautiful.
