Dr. Karine Martin, PhD
Chairman of the french Daoist association
Dr. Karine Martin holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical sciences and a second PhD in Religious studies.
Dr Martin born in France, started her carrer as a researcher in Neurosciences in the UK, before leaving the lay life to join the temple's life in China amongst the monastic Daoists. She trained full time for 15 years in the temples of China. She is ordained a ritual master and a priestess of the highest rank from the daoist Complete reality School (Quanzhen).
In later years she also obtained a PhD In religious studies on Daoism at the Chinese University of Hong Kong. She is Doctor associate at the Group for Study of Religion and Laicity at the National Center for Scientific Research (GRSL-CNRS) in France.
Karine is the founder and chairwoman of the french Daoist association (non-profit) and runs a daoist center in the center of France. She is regularly invited to represent daoism at international conferences in universities or institutions such as the UNESCO and appears often to international TV shows.
