Scholarships and grants
Here is a list of scholarships and their links for studying abroad as a person with a disability. Make sure to also talk to your study abroad office for university-specific scholarships you might also be able to receive.
Provider Scholarships:
USAC: Access, Equity, and Inclusion Scholarship
USAC also offers the Frank and Thu Triplett Study Abroad Scholarship for any student doing either their Lyon or Pau program
Deadlines: Summer 2024 Programs: March 1, 2024, Fall/Yearlong 2024-2025 Programs: May 1, 2024
IES Abroad Disability Grant: Up to $2,500
Deadlines: Summer: April 1st, Fall: May 1st, Spring: November 1st
ISA Diversity Scholarship: automatically considered for the ISA GO Scholarship with another scholarship application
Deadlines: Summer: February 28th, Fall: April 30th, Winter/Spring: October 30th
CIEE scholarships list: application found in the "Scholarships and Grants" section of your study abroad application; shows options based on your program, academic merit, and financial needs
Deadlines: Summer and Fall: April 1st, Winter/Spring: October 15th, Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship: February 14th
Other Scholarships:
Google Europe Students with Disabilities Scholarship: 7,000 Euros for those studying "computer science, computer engineering, informatics, or a closely related technical field" in Europe
Benjamin Gilman International Scholarship: must be receiving a Federal Pell Grant
October 5 deadline for programs from December 1 to October 31Â
Open in mid-January: March 1 deadline for programs from May 1 to April 30
Diversity Abroad Overseas Ambassador Scholarship: $500 for doing one article per month, social media posts, documenting experiences with photos/videos
NOTE: this scholarship is not open as of 2023 due to COVID-19, so continue to check their page for updates
Application opens in September for Spring programs and in February for Fall/Summer programs
