I was rushed to stock my aquarium, because it is getting colder and colder, and I dont plan on ice fishing. I had to settle on some Non-Native fish.
I decided to try Endler's Live bearers because they are apparently very easy to breed. Endler's Livebearers, Guppies, Platies, Mollies, Mosquitofish, and Swordtails are all examples of Live-Bearing fish. As the name suggests, these fish give live birth, like a Mammal. This evolved as a result of egg predators consistently eating small fish's eggs.
Endlers are native to Venezuela. Paria Peninsula, to be more specific. They were introduced to the aquarium trade because of the male's impressive colors and patterns. The females of every breed of Endler are dull and grey, because their color has only been shaped by the threat of predators, not courtship.
