Today while visiting my grandpa in Saco, ME, we walked down Ferry Beach. Ferry beach begins at the Saco River's mouth and stretches upwards to Goosefare Brook's mouth.
During our walk, I found lots of different things. At the start, we walked down a dirt road surrounded by a Eastern Hemlock forest and several perpendicular shaded streams. This gave way to a sandy pitch pine forest and then the beach itself. It was interesting to see the transition between habitats.
Before long, I saw a sand dollar. Not completely sure if it was alive or not, so i did not take it. Here I have a view of the top and bottom.
