This is easily one of the driest winters I have ever experienced. We had two major snowstorms in Oct. and Dec. but ever since, the ground has been dry, crusty and frozen. Not only do us New Englanders have to go through a cold January, but one without the fun of snow. I classify light snow as any snowfall that immediately melts, not causing a noticeable layer of snow.
