This Privacy Policy describes how Framework Detector ("the App," "we," "our," or "us") collects, uses, and discloses information when you use our Android application. By using Framework Detector, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
Framework Detector is a utility app that identifies the technology stack (e.g., Flutter, React Native, native Kotlin/Java, Jetpack Compose) used to build other apps installed on your device. It is a developer- and technology-enthusiast-focused tool.
To perform its core function, Framework Detector requests certain permissions. Here is exactly what each is used for:
Installed Apps List — We read the list of apps installed on your device (name, package name) so the App can display and scan them. This list stays on your device and is never uploaded to our servers.
App Details — For each app you view or scan, we read publicly available package metadata: version name/code, install and update timestamps, target/minimum SDK version, requested permissions, and approximate app size. This is standard Android package information, not personal data.
APK File Access — To detect an app's underlying framework, Framework Detector reads the structure of that app's installation files directly on your device. This analysis happens entirely on-device. We do not extract, copy, or transmit the contents of other apps' APK files off your device.
Usage Access (Optional) — If you choose to grant this permission, we read aggregate usage statistics (total foreground time, last-used timestamp, launch count) for apps you specifically look up. This permission is optional and the App functions without it, with reduced detail in some screens. You can revoke it at any time in your device's Settings.
Storage / Downloads Access — If you use the export feature, the App writes a file (e.g., a scan report) to your device's Downloads folder. This file is created and stored locally on your device; we do not receive a copy of it.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other directly identifying personal information unless you voluntarily provide it by contacting us directly (e.g., via email for support).
Framework Detector uses the following third-party services, each of which may independently collect certain information as part of its normal operation:
Google AdMob (advertising) We display banner, native, interstitial, and rewarded ads through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect your advertising identifier, IP address (used to derive an approximate, non-precise location for ad relevance), device information, and ad interaction data. Where required by applicable law (e.g., in the EEA, UK, and certain US states), we obtain your consent for this via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent flow before any personalized advertising is requested.
Google Firebase Crashlytics Used to collect crash reports and diagnostic information (device model, OS version, stack traces) so we can identify and fix bugs. This data is not linked to your identity.
Google Firebase Analytics Used to understand aggregate, anonymized usage patterns within the App (e.g., which screens are used, how often scans are run) to help us improve the product. This data is not used to identify individual users.

Certain jurisdictions — including the U.S. state of Texas under the App Store Accountability Act (Texas SB 2420) — require app stores and developers to provide age-appropriate treatment for users who are minors.
Where applicable and where Google Play makes this information available to us, Framework Detector uses Google's Play Age Signals API to receive a general age-category signal (e.g., whether an account is associated with a supervised/minor account) for eligible users in regions where such laws are in effect.
We use this signal for one purpose only: to configure Google AdMob's child-directed advertising treatment for that session, which disables personalized advertising and certain ad formats for that user. We do not use this signal for advertising targeting, marketing, analytics, or user profiling of any kind, and this restriction is enforced by Google's own terms governing use of the API.
We do not store, retain, or transmit this age signal anywhere. It is read at app startup, used immediately to configure that session's ad behavior, and discarded. We do not maintain any database, log, or record of any user's age, age category, or verification status.
Google Play itself — not Framework Detector — is responsible for the underlying age verification and parental consent process. We do not perform our own age verification, and we do not have access to any user's actual age, birthdate, or identity.
Framework Detector is a general-audience technical utility and is not directed at, marketed to, or designed for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such information, we will take steps to delete it.
On-device data (installed apps list, scan results, exported files) persists locally on your device until you clear the App's data or uninstall it.
Crash and analytics data collected via Firebase is retained according to Google's own Firebase data retention policies.
Age signal data, as described above, is never retained by us at all.
Ads consent: You can review or change your advertising consent choices at any time via the Privacy Options entry in the App's menu (shown where required by applicable law).
Usage Access permission: Can be revoked at any time via Android Settings → Apps → Framework Detector → Permissions.
Ad personalization: You can opt out of personalized advertising generally through your device's system-level ad settings (Settings → Google → Ads).
Data deletion requests: You may contact us (see below) to ask about any data associated with your use of the App.
We take reasonable technical measures to protect information handled by the App. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Framework Detector is developed and maintained from Nepal and is available to users globally, including in the United States and European Economic Area. By using the App, you understand that information may be processed by our third-party service providers (Google) in countries other than your own, subject to those providers' own safeguards.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or applicable legal requirements. The "Effective Date" at the top of this page will be updated accordingly. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
