Over the past few years, you have read or heard several different classic fairy tales in class or at home. Thinking back on some of your favorite fairy tales, create a small list of the similarities between the different stories. After creating your list, read the story of The Three Little Pigs and The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs! by Jon Scieszka. Feel free to download a version of either story to your tablet or read the versions I have provided for you below.
1. Compare and contrast the two stories of The Three Little Pigs and The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs! by Jon Scieszka. For example, what are some of the main difference between the stories? Who are the main speakers in each story? Do the stories take place in the same location?
2. Talk about the differences between the two stories’ main difference of character point of view.
3. State whether you believe or disbelieve the wolf’s sad story. Discuss why? Unlike the discussion post you completed this week, during this activity, you will decide if you believe or disbelieve Mr. Wolf's story and discuss why. Remember to provide support for your belief or disbelief of Mr. Wolf's story using the book.
After you provide your response to this disuccsion, read your fellow classmates discussion responses. Respond to as many classmates discussion responses as you like, but you must respond to at least three classmates expanding further their ideas, beliefs, and reasonings. You must choose at least one peer who shares your belief and at least one peer who does not share your belief in the wolf’s innocence or guilt. Based on their belief, explain and provide proof of why they are wrong or right in their belief using the information you have gathered.
