# Fraction Calculator Terms of Use
**JanoGroup LLC**
**Effective date:** October 12, 2026
**Last updated:** October 12, 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of Fraction Calculator and related support services (the "Service"), provided by JanoGroup LLC ("JanoGroup," "we," "us," or "our"), based in Washington, DC, USA. Contact: **janogroupllc@gmail.com**.
**Important:** Fraction Calculator is a calculation and educational utility, not a professional advisory service or a safety-critical tool. Check your inputs, interpretation, results, and explanations before relying on them, especially for consequential decisions. Decimal previews may be rounded, and software or input errors can affect results. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through the applicable store. Nothing in these Terms excludes rights or remedies that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
## 1. Acceptance and eligibility
By accepting these Terms through the Service or using the Service after they have been made available to you, you agree to them to the extent applicable law recognizes that acceptance. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Access does not constitute consent to optional personal-data processing.
You must have legal capacity to enter this agreement or use the Service with legally sufficient authorization and supervision from a parent or guardian. The Service is not directed to children under 13. Higher local age and parental-consent requirements apply. If you act for an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind it. Store-account eligibility and purchase rules also apply.
## 2. What the Service provides
The Service calculates mathematical expressions involving supported fractions, mixed numbers, whole numbers, and decimals. It provides results, step-by-step explanations, limited session history, calculator color themes, and optional keypad sounds.
Available operations and features depend on the version and supported input format. The Service is not a general-purpose computer algebra system, and statements about complex calculations do not promise support for every mathematical expression, unlimited input size, or unlimited computation.
Free and Premium availability may differ by version, store, region, and the offering presented. Some versions or offerings may require an active subscription for continued access; others allow ad-supported access. The offer shown before purchase describes the features being sold. Buying Premium purchases the app access described in that offer, not a guarantee of a particular educational, professional, or financial outcome.
## 3. Calculation accuracy and use limitations
The Service is designed to evaluate supported fractions and decimal inputs using exact rational arithmetic. Decimal previews are approximate and may be rounded. A rounded decimal is not necessarily an exact representation of the fraction shown.
The current calculator uses standard operator precedence: multiplication and division are evaluated before addition and subtraction, and operators at the same precedence are evaluated from left to right. Check that the expression displayed matches what you intended to enter, including mixed-number signs and fraction fields.
Results and explanations can be affected by incomplete or incorrectly entered values, ambiguous interpretation, unsupported syntax, software defects, display limitations, device resources, or changes between versions. Invalid input, including zero denominators or division by zero, is not a valid numerical result. An error message is not a successful calculation.
Explanations and onboarding examples are intended to help illustrate supported operations. They are not a complete mathematics curriculum, an assessment of your work, or a guarantee that a particular explanation method meets a school's, employer's, or professional body's requirements.
Do not rely on the Service as the sole basis for medical dosing, engineering or safety-critical work, financial transactions, accounting, tax or legal filings, compliance determinations, or other consequential decisions. Independently verify important results with an authoritative source or appropriately qualified professional. Follow applicable school or examination rules when using calculator assistance.
To the extent permitted by law, you remain responsible for your inputs, decisions, and reliance on results. This provision does not excuse breaches of nonwaivable obligations owed by us.
## 4. License and intellectual property
Subject to these Terms and applicable store rules, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable license to install and use the Service on devices you own or control for lawful personal or internal business purposes. Family Sharing or other store-authorized use is allowed where supported by the applicable product and store rules. No ownership of the Service is transferred.
The Service's code, design, branding, artwork, and original content belong to JanoGroup or its licensors. Third-party components, artwork, and trademarks remain subject to their owners' rights and applicable licenses. These Terms do not restrict rights expressly granted by an applicable open-source license.
We do not claim ownership of the numbers or equations you enter or of mathematical facts merely because the Service displays them. This does not grant permission to copy or redistribute protected app code, designs, branding, or other content beyond what applicable law or a relevant license permits.
## 5. Acceptable use
You must not use the Service unlawfully; infringe others' rights; interfere with security or availability; introduce malicious code; fraudulently obtain access or manipulate subscriptions; bypass legitimate access controls; make automated excessive requests to associated services; or resell the Service or redistribute protected content without authorization. You must not reverse engineer the Service except where applicable law permits notwithstanding this restriction.
We may reasonably restrict access to protect users, providers, or the Service from abuse or security risks, subject to applicable law. Restrictions do not automatically cancel store billing; subscription and refund rights remain governed by Section 8 and mandatory law.
## 6. Local preferences and calculation history
Calculations are performed on your device. The current version retains up to 50 successful calculations in memory for the current session and does not deliberately save a persistent, cross-session calculation history.
Certain preferences and app counters are stored locally. They may be lost through deletion, reinstall, operating-system changes, device failure, or clearing app data. Operating-system backups may preserve or restore some local data, but no JanoGroup cloud backup or cross-device preference synchronization is promised.
Store purchase restoration is separate from restoration of calculator preferences or calculation history. Keep an independent record of information you need to retain.
## 7. Third-party services and advertising
Online features depend on Apple or Google services, RevenueCat for subscriptions, and, for ad-supported access on supported mobile platforms, Google AdMob and participating providers. Availability and terms may change. Third parties control their own sites, stores, advertisements, and services. An advertisement or link is not our endorsement of the advertised product or its accuracy.
Premium removes the app's banner and interstitial ads while the entitlement is active. It does not remove operating-system or store communications, necessary subscription networking, or all service-provider data processing.
The [Privacy Policy](./PRIVACY_POLICY.md) explains local information handling, subscriptions, advertising, permissions, and privacy choices. You may need an internet connection for purchases, purchase restoration, entitlement updates, and advertising even though calculations are performed locally.
## 8. Subscriptions, trials, billing, and refunds
### Offers and payment authorization
Subscriptions are purchased through Apple App Store or Google Play. The selected offer and store confirmation show the applicable currency, price, billing period, eligibility, introductory terms, and renewal conditions. Taxes or store pricing rules may apply. No example price, trial length, or savings label in promotional material guarantees the offer available to your account.
By confirming a purchase, you authorize the store to charge the payment method associated with your account under the store's rules. We do not process payment-card details directly. Access is granted when the store and subscription verification service confirm an active entitlement. Pending or unsuccessful payments may not unlock Premium.
### Automatic renewal and cancellation
Subscriptions automatically renew for their stated billing period unless canceled under the applicable store's procedures before its renewal cutoff. For Apple subscriptions, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next renewal under Apple's rules. Google Play timing and charging rules are shown in your account and purchase terms.
Manage subscriptions through your store account, not by uninstalling the app or sending us a cancellation email. Cancellation generally stops future renewals rather than refunding an already-paid period. Access normally continues through the current entitlement period, subject to store rules, trial-specific cancellation rules, refunds, payment status, and applicable law.
### Free trials and introductory offers
Trials are offered only when available and you are eligible under the store's rules. Unless canceled before the applicable cutoff, a free trial converts to the paid subscription specified at purchase. An introductory paid phase, if offered, may precede the regular renewal price.
Eligibility can depend on previous subscriptions, subscription groups, store account, region, and the selected purchase option. The store's final confirmation controls any discrepancy, subject to your rights under applicable law.
### Weekly equivalents, savings, changes, and restoration
A weekly equivalent shown for an annual or other longer subscription is a normalized comparison rate based on store-provided pricing information. It does not mean that the subscription is billed weekly. The actual billing amount and period are shown in the selected offer and store confirmation.
Where a savings label is displayed, the app compares the longer plan's recurring weekly equivalent with the lowest-priced current weekly plan in the same currency within the offering. The percentage is rounded down. It is an arithmetic comparison, not a guarantee of past prices, future prices, trial value, or an individual user's savings. A free trial does not represent a 100% discount on the recurring subscription price.
Price changes and subscription modifications are subject to store notice, consent, and cancellation rules and applicable law. Restore Purchases can recover eligible access using the relevant store account. Restoration does not create a new free trial or guarantee transfer of a purchase between unrelated Apple and Google accounts.
### Refunds and consumer rights
Request refunds using the applicable store's refund process. Eligibility is determined under store policy and applicable law. Except where required by law or expressly offered, we do not promise prorated refunds for unused time.
This is not a blanket "no refunds" rule and does not waive rights for defective, misdescribed, or undelivered services. Applicable withdrawal or cooling-off rights, including any legally required express consent to immediate supply and acknowledgment concerning withdrawal rights, are not removed merely by these Terms.

## 9. Privacy, permissions, and support
Our [Privacy Policy](./PRIVACY_POLICY.md) describes local storage, subscriptions, advertising, permissions, and privacy rights. Permissions may affect features; declining optional permissions does not waive statutory rights. Device and network costs are your responsibility. Protect your device and store credentials.
We may offer support by email but do not promise a particular response time, uninterrupted support, or resolution of problems outside our control unless separately agreed or required by law. We do not need passwords or full card details to provide ordinary support.
## 10. Feedback
If you voluntarily provide suggestions about the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use those suggestions to improve or develop products without compensation, to the extent you have the right to do so.
This does not grant rights to your personal information beyond the Privacy Policy or transfer ownership of unrelated content. Do not submit confidential material you do not want considered for this purpose.
## 11. Changes, suspension, and termination
We may update, maintain, or change the Service, and may suspend or end access for material breach, abuse, security needs, legal requirements, or discontinuation. Where reasonably possible and required by law, we will provide notice and an opportunity to address a breach.
We will not rely on this clause to avoid mandatory obligations concerning paid services, material reductions in purchased functionality, or refunds.
You may stop using the Service at any time. Cancel active subscriptions separately through the store. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination, including intellectual-property protections, accrued payment obligations, lawful liability limits, and dispute resolution, continue to apply.
## 12. Warranties and disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement, and do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, support for every mathematical expression, or any particular educational or professional result.
These disclaimers do not exclude express commitments made at purchase or any statutory warranties, reasonable-care obligations, conformity requirements, or consumer remedies that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where a disclaimer is prohibited, it applies only to the extent permitted.
## 13. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, JanoGroup and its officers, employees, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive losses, or lost profits, anticipated savings, or data, arising from use of or inability to use the Service, including reliance on incorrect inputs, rounded previews, or erroneous calculations or explanations.
To the extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim or (b) US$100.
Neither the exclusions nor the cap apply to fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, willful misconduct, gross negligence where liability cannot be limited, death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable law prohibits limitation, or any other liability or remedy that cannot lawfully be limited. They do not take away mandatory consumer or data-protection rights. If local law requires a different limitation, that law controls.
## 14. Responsibility for unlawful misuse
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to indemnify JanoGroup against third-party claims and reasonable resulting costs caused by your unlawful misuse of the Service or knowing infringement of third-party rights.
This obligation applies only to the extent the claim is attributable to your conduct, not our negligence, misconduct, or breach, and does not impose an indemnity on a consumer where prohibited or unfair under applicable law.
We will provide prompt notice of a covered claim and a reasonable opportunity to participate in its defense. No settlement may impose an admission, payment, or continuing obligation on you without your consent, which may not be unreasonably withheld where law permits.
## 15. Disputes and governing law
We encourage you to contact **janogroupllc@gmail.com** with the subject **"Fraction Calculator dispute"** and a description of the issue and requested resolution. We will try to resolve it informally. Informal discussions do not prevent urgent relief, a regulatory complaint, small-claims proceedings, or filing before an applicable legal deadline.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except where mandatory law provides otherwise. To the extent a forum agreement is lawful and enforceable, disputes will be heard in the state or federal courts located in or serving Washington, DC.
Consumers retain any mandatory right to the protection of their home jurisdiction's laws and to bring proceedings in a legally available local court. These Terms do not require binding arbitration or waive class-action rights. No contractual shortened claim deadline is imposed.
## 16. Apple App Store provisions
If you obtain the app through Apple's App Store, the following apply to the extent required by Apple's rules:
- This agreement is between you and JanoGroup, not Apple. JanoGroup, not Apple, is responsible for the app and its content.
- Your license is limited to Apple-branded products you own or control, under Apple's Usage Rules, including applicable Family Sharing or volume-purchase rules.
- Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app.
- If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price under its applicable rules. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation; other claims attributable to a warranty failure are JanoGroup's responsibility.
- JanoGroup, not Apple, is responsible for applicable product-liability, legal or regulatory, consumer-protection, privacy, and intellectual-property claims concerning the app, subject to these Terms and mandatory law.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US government embargo or designated as terrorist-supporting and are not on a US government prohibited or restricted-party list, as required by Apple's rules.
- You must comply with applicable third-party agreements while using the app.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Apple-specific provisions and may enforce them.
If Apple's standard licensed application end-user license agreement applies to your download, or mandatory store terms conflict with these Terms, the applicable store license and mandatory rules control to the extent of that conflict. Listing these Terms on a website does not by itself register a custom EULA with Apple.
## 17. Google Play and export compliance
For Google Play downloads, Google's applicable store and payment terms also apply. JanoGroup, not Google, provides the Service except where Google's terms or mandatory law state otherwise. Mandatory store provisions control any conflict.
You must not access, export, re-export, or use the Service in violation of applicable export-control laws, sanctions, or trade restrictions. No provision authorizes activity prohibited by applicable law.
## 18. Events beyond reasonable control
To the extent permitted by law, we are not responsible for delay or interruption caused by events beyond our reasonable control, such as natural disasters, utility or network failures, government actions, war, provider outages, or changes in law.
This does not excuse failures to take legally required precautions or eliminate nonwaivable remedies for undelivered paid services.
## 19. Updates to these Terms
We may revise these Terms for Service, business, provider, or legal changes. Revisions will display an updated date. We will provide appropriate notice of material changes and obtain acceptance where required. Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights or replace required consent or store price-change approval.
If you disagree with validly introduced new Terms, stop using the Service and cancel any future renewal through your store, subject to applicable rights concerning already-paid access.
## 20. General provisions and contact
These Terms, applicable purchase disclosures, and mandatory store rules form the agreement concerning use of the Service. The Privacy Policy explains personal-information handling and does not itself authorize optional processing.
If a provision is invalid, the remainder continues to the extent lawful, without rewriting an unfair consumer term to evade statutory protections. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
You may not transfer this agreement except where store rules or law permit. We may transfer our rights and obligations in a reorganization, merger, or business transfer only in a way consistent with applicable law and without reducing mandatory protections. Except for the Apple provisions above and rights expressly required by law, these Terms create no third-party beneficiary rights.
