The Fractal Chess Club is an online-based chess club that hosts CFC tournaments online, providing a fun and competitive chess environment for those who may not be able to go to over the board games. We are dedicated to fair yet competitive matches that help you grow and learn as a chess player.
Founded by Ethan Oh in May 2024, the pandemic brought many challenges to over the board play and tournaments. The Fractal Chess Club is currently working to increase accessibility of CFC-Rated Tournaments, through partnering with other chess clubs, both local to our area and abroad in Canada, as well as being able to host FIDE-rated tournaments.
President, Founder / CFC 175011
Hey! I'm Ethan Oh, the founder of Fractal Chess. As a student truly passionate for the game of chess, my journey has been much like a chess game of its own - identifying gaps and creating new opportunities!
Through Fractal Chess, I hope to make chess accessible to all players in Canada, and hope we can bring a place of comfort, competitiveness, and growth for all participants.
As an official volunteer for the CFC (Chess Federation of Canada), I further work towards expanding the reach and positive impact chess can have on players, especially youth!
See you on the chess board :)
