The idea was born in response to the stated difficulty many workers in Italy have in finding a job without moving hundreds of miles from home.
Too often if you do not live in big cities you are forced to move away from your loved and separate yourself from your life.
So from user research I began to think of an initial design concept that would allow for this match:
"local people with local industries".
The focus is centered in the map, from which the user can move through the search for the nearest job filtered by industry, job type, posting date and more..
Clicking "Apply" for a job position we are interested in opens this page with details of the job offer, the ability to initiate a chat with the recruiter, and advice from those working in the company on how to prepare for the interview
This identification page presents a sort of resume with a link to LinkedIn and the "My interview" section, from which you can keep track of the status of applications for which we have applied
'ReJob is a mobile application and also a responsive website that seeks
to connect younger workers with local companies through an intuitive and usable design'
After acareful delineation of UX strategy aimed at the target market, analysis of direct and indirect competitors, and creation of first fictional and then real personas, I followed the design process in the following stages:
Emphatize
Define
Ideate
Prototype
Test
From sketches on paper I move on to designing low-fidelity prototypes and wireframes for each page, which allow the main path of the user flow to be outlined.
With the results of user testing, I was able to modify the design based on the difficulties encountered by users during testing.
Below I report the case study in its totality, down to the mockup realization and UI study.
What I have learned:
To identify the key principles for designing across devices and screen sizes
To undestand the differences between responsive mobile web apps and dedicated mobile apps
To design for social good
To analyze competitors making research and collecting findings
To do a usability study from designing the UX design storyboard
Next steps:
Conduct research on how successful the dedicated app is in reaching the goal to find a local job
Add more useful resources for users to learn about prepare for a specific interview
Costumize the research
