Fayetteville School District #1 became the first chartered public school district in Arkansas in 1871. In the almost 150 years since, there have been many milestones and memorable moments and individuals. It is our hope to capture them on these pages so that current and future generations will learn the rich history and heritage of Fayetteville Public Schools.

Check out the artwork our students have created to mark 150 years of Fayetteville Public Schools as the first chartered public school district in Arkansas! We have placed posters on the sidewalks and trails near our schools with a QR code that will take you to the student artwork online. Watch this short video to see what we are doing!
