Foxhound Farm is situated on 230 acres in Florida, nestled in the scenic Berkshires along the banks of the Deerfield River. The property offers expansive views, a peaceful setting, and direct access to miles of trails.

The farm features two large grass pastures, a nine-stall barn with a climate-controlled tack room, and an outdoor grass arena. Horses enjoy extensive turnout with free-choice hay whenever possible, supporting a management philosophy centered on equine health and well-being. As a family-owned and operated facility, the owners reside on-site, providing attentive daily care and oversight.

Mel Curtin is the owner and resident dressage trainer at Foxhound Farm. A lifelong equestrian, she began her riding career in western disciplines before transitioning to dressage as a teenager.

In 2014, Mel relocated to North Carolina to become a working student. She later became the Barn Manager at Encore Sporthorse, overseeing the care and management of more than 35 horses, supervising staff, and maintaining an active training and competition schedule.

In 2018, she founded FHF Dressage LLC, where she trained, rode, and competed horses for clients while managing her own farm and pursuing her USDF Bronze Medal goals.

In 2024, Mel and her husband relocated their operation back to MA and established Foxhound Farm, expanding their program to include training and sales horses.

Mel has trained with several USDF Gold medalists including Linda Zang, Susan Wiedman, JJ Tate, Jerry Stone, and Pam Goodrich. Her training philosophy emphasizes patient, systematic horsemanship and a whole-horse approach, recognizing that sound management and well-being are fundamental to success under saddle.
