Reading Intervention That Builds Strong Foundations
Foundations Literacy provides structured, one-on-one reading intervention for children who are experiencing difficulty learning to read or who require additional intervention to strengthen their literacy skills.
Our focus is on identifying and addressing the underlying skill gaps that may be impacting a child’s ability to read confidently and accurately. These may include difficulties with phonemic awareness, phonics, reading fluency, and reading comprehension.
Every child begins with a reading assessment, which helps us understand their current level of performance and pinpoint specific areas of need. Based on this assessment, an individualised intervention plan is developed to provide targeted instruction that meets the child exactly where they are.
Our intervention is structured and systematic, focusing on building strong foundational reading skills step by step. Sessions are delivered on a one-on-one basis to ensure that each child receives focused attention and intervention tailored to their learning needs.
We work with children typically in the early to intermediate primary school years (approximately ages 6–12), particularly those who are reading below grade level, struggling to keep up with classroom expectations, or lacking confidence in their reading ability.
The goal of Foundations Literacy is not only to improve reading skills, but also to help children become more confident, capable, and independent readers.
We believe that with the right intervention, every child can make meaningful progress in their reading journey.
