LOCATION
The University of Lisbon (ULisboa) is a public research university and the largest university in Portugal. It offers a wide range of academic programs across many disciplines and has a strong tradition in both education and research. The University’s origins trace back to medieval times, with the earliest recognized predecessor established in the late 13th century in Lisbon (although it later moved and evolved). The University is located mainly across the Cidade Universitária campus in Lisbon.
The Faculty of Arts and Humanities at the University of Lisbon (commonly known by its Portuguese acronym FLUL) is the University’s main center for humanities scholarship and teaching. FLUL is one of Portugal’s largest humanities faculties, dedicated to studies in literature, languages, history, philosophy, and culture.

Restaurants and Cafeterias at the University
For participants of the congress at the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of the University of Lisbon (FLUL), several dining options are available both inside the faculty building and in nearby university facilities around Alameda da Universidade.
Within the FLUL building, you will find the Bar de Letras (“Cantos das Letras”), located on the ground floor (room A001). It is a central meeting point that offers quick meals such as baguettes, pastries, snacks, simple daily dishes, and coffee. Another space within the faculty is the Bar Novo, which serves as a social area and occasionally hosts cultural events and theatre sessions. In addition, vending machines are available throughout the corridors for snacks and drinks outside regular service hours.
Within less than five minutes on foot, several university canteens operated by SASULisboa are located nearby. The Cantina Velha, about two to three minutes from the main entrance of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, offers full meals and is one of the most comprehensive options for lunch or dinner. Another nearby alternative is the Faculty of Law Canteen, which is often used when queues at other locations are long. It is located directly opposite the FLUL building.The Refeitório de Ciências (FCUL) is also close by, although dinner hours there are somewhat more limited.
These facilities provide convenient and affordable dining options for congress participants during their stay at the University of Lisbon.

It is one of the busiest airports in Southern Europe and offers flights from many major cities around the world. Whether you’re coming from Europe, North America, Africa, or Asia, you can find direct or one-stop connections via major airlines and carriers into LIS. Lisbon Airport is very close to the city centre, and there are many easy ways to get into Lisbon once you land.
