Tryouts begin Monday, August 10th, 2026
Depending on the number of boys attending tryouts, there may be cuts this year. There will be at least 3 days of tryouts before cuts would be made.
There is a Google Form linked below that you need to fill out to be placed in the appropriate tryout session and to provide uniform sizes. This year, we will be ordering uniforms during the week of tryouts so that we can have them in hand by our first week of matches.
PLEASE NOTE THAT SPECTATORS (PARENTS, GRANDPARENTS, PLAYERS, etc) ARE NOT ALLOWED TO COME WATCH TRYOUTS. PLEASE JUST DROP YOUR SON OFF AT THE COURTS AT THE DESIGNATED TIME AND COME BACK TO PICK THEM UP LATER.
3. WEATHER
If the heat we are experiencing remains during tryouts, there may be delays and schedule changes because we may be limited by the school district as to when and how long we can have tryouts.
Please plan to be very flexible and check the website several times throughout the day for schedule updates. In essence, you will need to be available as early as 7am and as late as past sunset as we have 2 lighted courts we may have to use.
4. ELIGIBILITY -
All FRHS Athletes must have an orange practice card prior to practice/tryouts. Fall sports registration will begin 7/27/26. Click on the link below.
YOU NEED TO HAVE YOUR ORANGE CARD BY FRIDAY, AUGUST 7TH.
Please make sure to bring in a copy of a current physical and the proof that athletic payments/fees have been paid. All fees must be paid online through school pay (no longer charging convenience fees).
Cash or check payments must be paid at the district office. Office hours are limited, so please be sure to plan ahead before tryouts begin.
Athletic Office Hours for Fall season Orange Card Collection Only: July 27, 2026 – August 7, 2026 Monday – Friday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. Please use the Athletic entrance only.
Our building is under construction and is officially closed for the summer. During these office hours, no other items may be collected or dropped off. We can only accommodate orange card needs at this time.
5. Tryout Format for Singles
Singles tryouts will be limited to players designated by the coach. There will be several rounds of singles tryouts throughout the week of August 10th. You may be playing twice a day with a best 2 out of 3 full sets match format.
The singles tryout players that do not make singles will be placed on the coach designated court in the double's tryout ladder.
6. Tryout Format for Doubles:
Ladder tournament (seeded by the coach) to 21 or 15 points. Play a doubles game to 21/15 with each player on your assigned court. One team serves 4 points, then other team serves 4 points. Change sides after first 4 points and then after every 8 points. When one set of players gets to 21/15 points, record your scores, switch partners and play another round to 21/15. After the 3 sets have been played, players move up a court and move down a court. This will continue over several days to determine placement.
The singles tryout players that do not make singles will be placed in the doubles tryout ladder on the coach designated court. This may affect the court you will be placed on from one session to the next compared to where you think you should be based on the previous round's results.
7. Tryout times:
There will be 2 sessions of Singles and Varsity/Varsity Practice Doubles tryouts as well as 1 session of JV Doubles tryouts each day. You will be assigned to the appropriate time slot(s) each day. You will have a several hour break in-between your sessions. You may leave during this break; it is not required that you stay on-site.
Coaches will communicate which tryout times you will be participating in. Please see Tryout List page (to be updated by August 8th).
There will be the opportunity to move between sessions from one session to the next. After each session during the day, the coach will inform players of which session they will participate in next. Participants for the next day's rounds will be posted on the website after all rounds for that day are completed.
DON'T BE LATE FOR YOUR SESSION AS IT COULD IMPACT YOUR PLACEMENT ON THE TEAM AND NEGATIVELY IMPACTS YOUR TEAMMATES FOR THEIR TRYOUT!
