Watch this demo to see how the elements of the Fortinet Security Fabric work together to enable Zero Trust. This demo shows how the ZTNA application gateway in FortiOS acts as an enforcement point and the ZTNA agent in FortiClient provides the device posture and SSO, all supported by FortiAuthenticator for user identity.

The Unified FortiClient agent enables remote workers to securely connect to the network using zero-trust principles. This edition enables both Universal ZTNA- and VPN-encrypted tunnels, as well as URL filtering and cloud access security broker (CASB). FortiSASE provides cloud-hosted Universal ZTNA, CASB, and SWG and includes the Unified FortiClient agent. Central management via FortiClient EMS is included.

The Unified FortiClient agent provides enhanced security capabilities by adding AI-based next-generation antivirus (NGAV), endpoint quarantine, and application firewall, as well as support for cloud sandbox, USB device control, and ransomware protection.

In regard to ZTNA, EMS instructs the agents which proxies to connect to, and provides digital certificates to the agents for device identification checks at the proxies. When an end user connects with an application, the agent sets up a TLS connection with the appropriate proxy, which encrypts the traffic and authenticates the client and proxy.

FortiGate firewalls serve as access proxies. They terminate connections from the client agents and broker connections to applications. FortiGate firewalls can be deployed as hardware appliances, on VMs or containers on servers, or as instances in the public cloud.

Administrators set up rules in EMS so that the client agent directs traffic to the most appropriate proxy. In the above example, the San Francisco users might be sent to the FortiGate deployed in Oakland rather than three-quarters of the way across the country.

In this course, you will learn how to use the FortiClient EMS feature, provision FortiClient endpoints, FortiClient EMS Security Fabric integration, explore different editions of FortiClient, and deploy and configure ZTNA agent and endpoint security features. These fundamentals of the product will provide you with a solid understanding of how to deploy, manage and maintain endpoint security using FortiClient EMS products.

FortiClient is more than advanced endpoint protection. As an integrated agent, FortiClient contains three key modules: Fabric Agent for security Fabric connectivity, the endpoint security modules, and the secure remote access modules. Fabric Agent shares endpoint telemetry with the Security Fabric and delivers broad endpoint visibility, compliance control, and vulnerability management. It provides advanced endpoint protection with pattern-based anti-malware, behavior-based exploit protection, web-filtering, and an application firewall. FortiClient natively integrates with FortiSandbox to detect zero-day threats and custom malware. FortiClient also provides secure remote access with built-in VPN, single-sign-on, and two-factor authentication for added security. 17dc91bb1f
