We demonstrated how weather balloons and drones are used to gain information about temperature, moisture, and wind in the atmosphere, how we measure rainfall, and why different gases in the atmosphere are important for our warming planet!

For this What's Brewing, we are exited to host our very own Professor Jim Hurrell! Jim gave an overview of his career up until becoming a professor at CSU. He held many previous positions and appointments including being the director for the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR), and a senior scientist at the Global Climate Dynamics (GCD) lab.

We were excited to host our speaker, Minh Pham! Minh Phan is a Public Affairs Specialist for FEMA region 8 in Denver. The first portion of the presentation will center on an introduction to FEMA and emergency management while highlighting notable recent disasters. Minh will then discuss his career trajectory to working at FEMA and highlight how people looking for career opportunities can combine their passions to develop their own path.
