Paid Positions

The Fort Atkinson Youth Soccer Association is looking for a Junior Soccer Lead Coach for the 2024/2025 season. This is a great opportunity for someone pursuing a teaching degree and who loves soccer. It will be helpful to build a resume in this area. The age groups of our JR program are 6U, 7U and 8U (KG – 2nd grade). This person runs the JR Soccer program and manages paid JR instructors (usually of high school age).

We offer 3 Sessions on 6x Saturdays during the season. In the fall, the first session starts at noon and in the spring at 9:00 AM.

Fall Schedule (starts September 7, 2024):

· 6U –> 12:00 – 1:00 PM Saturdays

· 7U –> 1:15 – 2:15 PM Saturdays

· 8U –> 2:30 – 3:30 PM Saturdays

o 8U has an additional 1-hour practice during the week in the evening. Day and time TBD

Spring Schedule (starts April 12, 2025):

· 6U –> 9:30 – 10:30 AM Saturdays

· 7U –> 10:45 – 11:45 PM Saturdays

· 8U –> 12:00 – 1:00 PM Saturdays

o 8U has an additional 1-hour practice during the week in the evening. Plan and run 8U Practice once a week (1st and 2nd grade). Day and time TBD

Junior Soccer Lead Coach will be responsible for:

- - - Create practice and game plans for U6,7 & 8 sessions for 6 Saturdays

- 1 hour session per age group

- approximately 1/2 our warm up and game type skills training - 1/2 Games

- - - Communicate with parents what the subject and the goal of each session will be (per email or in person)
    - Hire, organize and communicate with JR Soccer Instructors for Saturdays session - 2 per field
    - Set up fields (set up pop-up goals on Junior fields)
    - Unlock & check restrooms
    - Have extra balls pumped up
    - Have practice and team sheets for instructors
    - Make sure scheduled instructors are all present (shall arrive 15 minutes early to help with setup.)
    - Meet with instructors to discuss the sessions
    - Have instructors on field interacting with kids and parents 5-10 minutes before official start time.
    - Make sure all instructors are paid at end of session

We are looking for a person who can inspire children to play soccer. We are looking for someone who is creative in teaching soccer to this age group in a fun way. It also requires organizational skills as the Junior Soccer Lead Coach runs the entire session including managing the JR Soccer Instructors. Each age group consists of up to 30 boys and girls.
