the compost

After maturation, the product that derives from the AEROBIC process is further refined and is therefore ready for use in agriculture as a mixed compost soil conditioner or, more simply, COMPOST, which is one of the final results of the process. It is an extremely noble soil improver, very valid for agronomic practices, rich in nutrients, and can also be used in organic farming. The product, soft and well structured, is able to replace and integrate the fertilizations required by the most demanding crops, it revives the soil by providing it with an excellent quality humus substrate.

The organic matter content in Italian soils is slowly but steadily decreasing progressively. The process of gradual impoverishment of soil fertility is certainly one of the most visible effects of a more general and complex phenomenon which, especially in the Mediterranean basin, is assuming worrying dimensions: desertification. Quality compost, produced from the treatment of organic waste selected at the source, such as separate waste collection in urban areas, represents an important new source of organic matter. In use, it joins other matrices (e.g. traditional amendments such as manure, organo-mineral fertilisers, etc.), making itself available for operations of maintenance or replenishment of organic matter in the soil, together with traditional green manure and rotations.
