FormSafe Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 28, 2026
Overview
FormSafe is a Chrome extension that automatically saves text you type in web forms so you can restore it if a page crashes or a tab closes. All data stays on your computer. Nothing is ever sent to us or anyone else.
What data FormSafe accesses
FormSafe reads the content of form fields (text inputs, textareas, checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdown selections) on web pages you visit, so it can save and later restore them. Password fields are explicitly excluded and are never read or saved.
Where your data is stored
All saved form data is stored locally on your device using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.local API. FormSafe has no server, no user accounts, no analytics, and no tracking. Your data never leaves your computer.
Data retention
Saved entries automatically expire and are deleted after 30 days. You can also delete all saved data at any time from the extension popup.
What we do NOT do
- We do not collect, transmit, sell, or share your data with anyone.
- We do not save passwords.
- We do not use your data for advertising, credit checks, or any purpose unrelated to form saving and restoring.
- We do not use remote code; all code is bundled with the extension.
