Formosa Toastmasters Club was founded by Richie Chan in 1995, with its original regular meeting location at Taipei Mackay Memorial Hospital. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in 2020, the club transitioned to online meetings and relocated from the hospital. Currently, our regular meetings are held at 4th Floor, No. 1 Ningpo East Street, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City (YC Space), just a few minutes’ walk from Exit 3 of Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall MRT Station. The club’s primary meeting language is English, and meetings are held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of every month from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. 

When Ralph C. Smedley formed the first official Toastmasters club in 1924, he sought to create a collaborative learning environment where young men could learn the art of public speaking. A century later, nearly 8 million members (of all genders) in 148 countries/territories around the world have worked on bettering themselves thanks to Smedley’s vision of a club environment where members prepare and deliver speeches, respond to impromptu questions, and give and receive constructive feedback. 

Our club is led by a dedicated group of officers who are passionate about helping members improve their public speaking and leadership skills. Whether or not you have prior experience, we welcome everyone to join and grow with us.
