1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Forge Calibre Explorer ("the Application"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the Application.
2. Description of Service
Forge Calibre Explorer is a local client tool designed to allow users to connect to their personal Google Drive storage, locate user-hosted Calibre e-book database files (metadata.db), and download or view e-book files (.epub, .mobi, .pdf, etc.) for personal use.
3. User Responsibilities & Account Security
Data Ownership: You retain full ownership and responsibility for all files, e-books, and databases hosted in your Google Drive account.
Account Access: You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and Google account credentials. The Application accesses Google Drive solely through official OAuth 2.0 protocols and stores credentials/tokens locally on your device.
Lawful Use: You agree to use the Application only for lawful purposes and in compliance with all applicable copyright laws and regulations governing the content in your library.
4. Third-Party Services
The Application relies on integration with Google Drive (operated by Google LLC) to access your files.
Your use of Google Drive is subject to Google’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
The developer of Forge Calibre Explorer is not responsible for any downtime, API changes, rate limits, or account disruptions caused by third-party services.
5. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APPLICATION IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS, WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. THE DEVELOPER EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
The developer does not warrant that:
The Application will meet your specific requirements.
The operation of the Application will be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every version of Calibre database schema or Google Drive API update.
Any data or library information cached locally will remain uncorrupted or accessible at all times.
6. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER BE LIABLE FOR ANY DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES—INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF DATA, LOSS OF E-BOOKS, DEVICE MALFUNCTION, OR UNAUTHORIZED ACCOUNT ACCESS—ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE APPLICATION.
7. Changes to Terms
The developer reserves the right to modify these Terms of Service at any time. Updated versions will be made available via the Application's official public repository or hosting page. Your continued use of the Application following any updates constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
