Salty Dawgs FC began their journey in 2010, their inaugural campaign in the RDSL’s Over 40-B Division. Under the guidance of former Rochester Lancer icon Mauro Felipe, the Dawgs topped the table that first year and were promptly promoted up to the A division. Six years later, several members of that original championship-winning squad formed the nucleus of the initial Over 50 edition of the club.  

Ten years on, the Dawgs are a well-run and respected component of the RDSL’s senior division. On-field success is not the only way to measure the worth of a team, and no club exemplifies that quite like the Dawgs. The camaraderie of the players, the joy and spirited attitude they bring to the pitch every Sunday, the Championship-caliber post-game tailgating activities – these are just some of the qualities this Club is known for.

There are Rochester area teams with longer, more established pedigrees, like the iconic Still Sporting and the slightly unique Silver Chiefs. Though young in comparison to those two clubs, the Salty Dawgs look forward to growing old together and playing for years to come, be it in Over 50, Over 60, or even Over 70 leagues.  We relish the opportunity and are honored to participate in the Inaugural Forever Sporting Over 60 Tournament.
