By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the terms herein.
1. Information We Do Not Collect
Dento is designed with a strict privacy-first approach. We do not collect, process, or store any of your personal data or content through the App, including but not limited to:
Identifiable information (e.g., your name, email address, or contact details);
Usage data (e.g., how often you use the App, which features you access);
Location data or device identifiers (e.g., IP address, unique device IDs).
All content you create or input into the App—such as book details, notes, photos of book pages, and reading progress—is stored exclusively on your device. No data is transmitted to Dento’s servers, third-party services, or any external systems.
2. Your Content and Ownership
You retain full ownership and control of all content you generate or upload using the App, including:
Book logs (titles, authors, genres, notes, and progress tracking);
Photographs of book pages captured via the App’s camera feature;
Custom categories or organizational tags.
Dento does not claim any rights to this content. You may edit, delete, or export your content at any time through your device’s settings, subject to your device’s storage capabilities.
3. Local Storage and Security
All content is stored locally on your iOS device. Dento relies on your device’s built-in security features (e.g., passcodes, Touch ID, Face ID) to protect access to your data. We recommend enabling these features to enhance the security of your content.
While Dento takes reasonable measures to ensure the App functions securely, we cannot guarantee protection against unauthorized access to your device (e.g., theft, hacking, or physical tampering). You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any backups of your data.
4. Offline Functionality
The App operates entirely offline. No internet connection is required to use its core features, including logging books, capturing photos, or organizing your library. This ensures that no data is transmitted over networks, further protecting your privacy.
5. Compliance with Hong Kong Law
This Privacy Policy adheres to the PDPO, which regulates the collection, use, and storage of personal data in Hong Kong. Under the PDPO:
You have the right to access and correct your personal data (where applicable). However, since Dento does not collect or store any personal data, no such data is available for access or correction through us.
You have the right to request information about how an organization handles your personal data. As Dento does not handle any personal data, this right does not apply in this context.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in legal requirements or App functionality. Any modifications will be posted within the App, with the "Effective Date" updated to the date of the change. By continuing to use the App after the updated policy takes effect, you agree to the revised terms.
