The Problem
The Problem
We all know how difficult is to bet on football matches well before the start of the matches, and still have a long term winning overall balance.
When I am talking about "well before the start", that is at least 2-3 hours before the start of the matches.
We also know how difficult is to bet on football with a "set and forget" style, and still have a long term winning overall balance.
A "set and forget" betting style is one in which for example while the matches you are looking at are scheduled from the mid-afternoon to late night, you are doing your handicapping and you are placing your bets let's say in the morning, or around noon, and you don't waste any more time doing this in that day. The rest of the day you are free for other activities, like your job, free time activities, watch the match(es) you have placed wagers on, etc.
If we are serious football bettors, having a business like attitude about betting on football, but the revenue from this betting activity is just an extra source of income, not our one and only source of living, we should strive to have a "set and forget" betting style. We have just only one life to live, and for this reason the time dedicated for betting on football needs to be kept inside reasonable limits.
Now on some days, when there are not too many "meaningful" football matches scheduled worldwide, one can have a profitable enough betting activity (or at least feel that they have done all what is possible for a successful activity) if analyzing only 4-5 matches, or even less, before placing wagers.
This may take maybe just a half hour to an hour in such days.
But there are some days, typically Saturdays and Sundays, and many mid-week days too (like Wednesday, Thursday) when the sheer number of important matches scheduled is too big to have time to go through all of them. There is simply not enough time for this, as it would take maybe over 4 hours.
So what can we do in these days with so many matches scheduled?
We handicap just some matches we feel are of the most importance, and/or present the most value in terms of betting for that day, and we are wagering only on these matches. The problem with this approach is that in many days using the same handicapping criteria and money management style, just by having analyzed many more matches, the final outcome of the whole betting day would have been better or much better.
A solution to this problem would be one in which besides making our bets based just on our own handicapping, to have a paid membership to a sports service which is giving tips on football. But this is out of question in our case, because besides the monthly membership fee may be too high, most of the services are too unreliable as per long term profitability.
Another solution is to follow one or more successful football bettor forum members on some sports betting forums. The truth is that there are many forums out there, and with many members who over the long run are really profitable to follow. Many of these posters are as good in the long run as the best sports services, and all this if for free!
However, unfortunately there are a multitude of problems by using this solution.
Usually all such forum members post irregularly (by this I mean they do not stick to some time schedules of posting their plays, like all paid services have time schedules of course), or post very close to match starts so you don't even have have time to place your wager, or post their wagers placed a long time ago, and all you can get now is much changed odds in worse, or post very many plays every day, so you have to spend hours on the respective sports forum, or check your mobile device all the time for a lots of hours, to be sure you're not losing out on some new plays, etc. You know what I mean...
The biggest problem here is again the time factor... in case if you have found those good forum handicappers you can rely on.
If following exclusively sports forum posters would really work for most of the people seriously interested in making money in the long run in sports betting, almost all the good sports services would be out of business, and probably all sports betting forums would have just paid memberships (or at least for those sections where these forum members are posting their daily plays/picks.).
But all the above is simply not happening...
