Each position develops these attributes differently, and some positions come into your school more college-ready than others. Since each position has the same underlying attributes, just with different strengths/weaknesses, you, as the coach, can move players from one position to another if it fits your team better.

I want to give everyone a huge thanks for a great launch week. I've been blown away by the reception and hope I can make Football Coach: College Dynasty the college football game we've all dreamed of. Many of you have asked for a roadmap, so here it is, along with an FAQ of some common questions I've seen.

Not only did he put Florida State on the map by taking the Seminoles from afterthought to dynasty, he left an indelible mark on the game with a rare combination of coaching acumen, gracious demeanor and a compassion for those he coached and competed against.

The numbers are staggering: Bowden piled up 377 wins during 40 years as a major college coach and his teams won a dozen Atlantic Coast Conference titles and national championships in 1993 and 1999. Perhaps the statistic that jumps off the page is his sustained success with Florida State, which finished the season ranked in the top five of The Associated Press college football poll an unmatched 14 straight seasons (1987-2000) under his tutelage.

Bowden was beloved by Seminoles fans, respected by his peers and throughout his life one of the most accessible stars in college football. His home number was listed in the Tallahassee phone book for years.

Both coaches who birthed college football powerhouses in Florida during the 1980s have died this year. Howard Schnellenberger, who led Miami to its first national championship in 1983, died in March at 87.

His legacy continues at Rio Mesa, where his son Jim is the head football coach, and at Camarillo, where his daughter Mary is the athletic director, and at the scores of other schools where his former players now coach.

He continued coaching in retirement, joining the youth programs of the Camarillo Roadrunners and Oxnard Warriors. Decades earlier, he had helped start the first youth football program in Oxnard with Norris Fletcher and Jay Rogers.

Mudra was a key contributor in helping turn the Bison football program into the national power we know today. In 1962 NDSU finished the campaign at 0-10. Shortly after in 1963, NDSU named Nudra the head coach. In just his second year, he guided the Bison to a 10-1 record and their first bowl game. They would end up winning the Mineral Water Bowl by a score of 14-13 over Western State. Then in 1965 Mudra led NDSU to the first national championship with an 11-0 season that included a 20-7 victory over Grambling in the Pecan Bowl.

Bobby Bowden, one of the most revered and respected college football coaches in America, was born in Birmingham, AL in 1929. His story is a compelling one and beautifully told in the documentary The Bowden Dynasty, which will be shown in theaters across America Sunday, Jan. 8, the evening before the national college championship football game.

During his career Bobby Bowden became one of the most prolific college football coaches in America. His story is now being told in a documentary about his life and how faith played a role in his leadership on and off the field.

However, as with any football coach there is the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat. Sometimes defeat incurs the hostility of wealthy alumni and zealous, obsessive fans. The Bowden Dynasty shows how Bobby Bowden faced adversity with courage and faith. In fact, he taught his players by precept and example how to excel not only athletically and educationally, but also spiritually.

The documentary is full of football, behind the scenes football strategies, the drama of establishing a dynasty, having 33 consecutive winning seasons, winning national championships, and cameo appearances by Bert Reynolds, Deion Sanders, Warrick Dunn, Chris Weinke, Charlie Ward, Danny Kanell, Nick Saban, Lou Holtz, Vince Dooley, and many more.

The Orediggers announced Wednesday that interim football coach Pete Sterbick has been given the job on a permanent basis. Sterbick had served in the position on an interim basis since former coach Brandon Moore resigned last month to take the same position at the University of San Diego.
