We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you install and/or use the Food & Cosmetic Scanner mobile application (the “App”).
“Personal data” means any information that relates to an identified or identifiable natural person, directly or indirectly.
This Privacy Policy applies to all users worldwide. An additional U.S. Multistate Privacy Notice applies to users residing in certain U.S. states where applicable privacy laws are in force (see Annex).
We process the following information to provide the App’s core functionality:
Activity & Camera Access
The App may access your camera or photo library only with your permission, solely to analyze images you take or upload. We do not access or collect other content from your device.
User Preferences & Health-Related Data
You may optionally provide information such as dietary preferences, allergens, food restrictions, or product interests. This data is used only to personalize product analysis and results shown in the App.
User Content & AI-Generated Content
Content you submit or generate using AI features is stored locally on your device. We do not permanently store or reuse your AI-generated content.
AI features are powered by third-party providers (e.g. OpenAI, L.L.C.). Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies.
Account & Authorization Data
You may sign in using Sign in with Apple. This may include your email address. You can delete your account at any time in the App.
⚠️ Deleting your account does not automatically cancel active subscriptions.
Contact Information
If you contact us (e.g. via email), we process your name, email address, and message content to respond to your request. Data is stored securely via cloud providers (e.g. Amazon Web Services).
With your permission, we may use analytics and advertising technologies that automatically process limited data, such as:
Device type, OS version, model
IP address and general location (country/region)
App usage data (sessions, features used, crash logs)
Advertising identifiers (IDFA), if tracking is enabled
This data is used in aggregated form to:
Improve app performance
Analyze usage trends
Deliver relevant advertising (if permitted)
You can disable tracking at any time (see Section VIII).
All payments and subscriptions are processed by Apple App Store or other authorized platforms.
We do not access or store your payment card details.
We process your data to:
Provide and operate the App
Improve functionality, performance, and reliability
Personalize content and product insights
Communicate with you (support, updates)
Prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents
Comply with legal obligations
If new purposes arise, this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
We do not sell your personal data.
We may share limited data with trusted service providers strictly for operational purposes, including:
Amazon Web Services (Cloud storage)
Firebase / Crashlytics (Analytics & crash reporting)
Amplitude (app usage analytics)
Branch (Attribution & analytics)
Barcode Lookup (Product information)
RevenueCat (Subscription management)
OpenAI, L.L.C. (AI features)
Each provider processes data under contractual and legal safeguards.
We may disclose information:

To protect rights, safety, or prevent fraud
In case of merger, acquisition, or asset sale (with notice)
Your data may be processed outside your country, including in the United States and the EU.
We apply appropriate safeguards (encryption, contractual protections) to ensure adequate protection.
We retain personal data only as long as necessary to provide the App and comply with legal obligations.
You may request deletion of your data at any time, subject to legal requirements.

Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → disable tracking for the App
Apple Personalized Ads
Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising → turn off Personalized Ads
Location Data
Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → set App access to “Never”
We use industry-standard technical and organizational measures to protect your data.
However, no system is 100% secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
The App is not intended for children under 16.
We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If such data is discovered, it will be deleted promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Material changes will be communicated via the App.
