Privacy Policy — Nutrizio

This Privacy Policy describes how Nutrizio (the "App"), published on 

Google Play by MobileDev Software SRL (the "Developer," referred to as 

"we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and protects user information. 

By using the App, you agree to the terms described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

The App may collect the following types of information:

   * Personal Information: name, email address, and account details you 

     provide when creating an account.

   * Health and Nutrition Data: food logs, meals, and dietary information 

     you record in the App.

   * Technical Information: including IP address, device type, operating 

     system, and usage statistics.

   * Camera and Images: The App may request access to your device's camera 

     for (a) barcode scanning and (b) AI-based meal recognition 

     (photographing your plate). See sections 4 and 5.

2. How We Use the Information

The information we collect is used for:

   * Providing barcode scanning and meal-tracking functionality.

   * Displaying product information retrieved from the Open Food Facts 

     database.

   * Providing AI-based recognition of meals from photos (premium feature).

   * Managing your account and subscription.

   * Enhancing the user experience and improving App features.

Note: The App strictly adheres to the Open Food Facts API terms of use. 

Data retrieved via the API is not used for commercial purposes, sold, or 

redistributed without prior consent from Open Food Facts.

3. Sharing of Information

We do not sell user information. We share information only in the following 

cases:

   * With third-party service providers that operate the App's 

     infrastructure and features, specifically:

       - Google Firebase / Cloud Firestore — for account creation and 

         storage of your data.

       - A third-party AI provider (currently OpenAI, via the OpenAI Vision 

         API) — to process meal photos for recognition (see section 5).

       - Google Play Billing — to process subscription payments.

   * To comply with applicable legal obligations.

   * To meet specific requirements of the Open Food Facts API (e.g., storing 

     anonymized data if applicable).

4. Camera Access

The App may request access to your device's camera to scan barcodes and to 

photograph meals for AI recognition.

   * Purpose: camera access is used to identify products via barcode 

     scanning and to recognize meals via photo.

   * User Control: you can disable camera access at any time through your 

     device settings.

5. AI Meal Recognition (Photo)

This premium feature lets you photograph your plate to estimate nutritional 

values.

   * On-device processing: before upload, the image is cropped on your 

     device to the meal area, minimizing the data transmitted.

   * Third-party processing: the cropped image is sent to our AI provider 

     (OpenAI) solely to perform recognition, and is used only to return the 

     nutritional estimate to you.

   * No storage: the App does not store meal photos. Images are transmitted 

     for recognition only and are not saved on our servers or retained by 

     the App.

6. User Rights

Under the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

   * Access: request access to the personal data collected by the App.

   * Rectification: request corrections or updates to your personal data.

   * Deletion: request the deletion of your personal data, including via the 

     in-app account deletion option (Profile > Settings).

   * Consent Withdrawal: withdraw consent for camera access or other 

     functionalities.

   * Data Portability: request a copy of your data in a portable format.

   * Objection: object to certain processing of your data.

   * Complaint: lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority 

     (in Romania, ANSPDCP — www.dataprotection.ro).

7. Data Security

We implement administrative and technical measures to protect user data 

against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration.

8. Data Retention

We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes 

described in this policy:

   * Account and profile data (email, nutrition logs, preferences): retained 

     while your account is active. When you request account deletion, your 

     data is permanently deleted within 30 days.

   * Meal photos: not stored. Images are processed for recognition only and 

     are not retained by the App.

   * Technical and usage data (device type, IP, usage statistics): retained 

     for up to 24 months, then deleted or anonymized.

   * Subscription and billing data: handled by Google Play Billing; we retain 

     minimal transaction records only as required by applicable accounting 

     and tax law.

You can request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting us 

or by using the in-app account deletion option.

9. Use of Open Food Facts API

The App uses the Open Food Facts API in compliance with its terms and 

conditions:

   * Attribution: all data retrieved from the API is credited to Open Food 

     Facts.

   * License Compliance: data is used in accordance with the Open Database 

     License (ODbL).

   * Data Use: API data is used solely to provide product information to 

     users. Permanent storage or commercial use of the data is not allowed 

     without prior permission from Open Food Facts.

10. Free and Premium Access

Users have free access to core meal-tracking and barcode scanning features. 

Premium features, such as AI meal recognition and advanced analytics, are 

accessible through a subscription. After a subscription or trial expires, 

users retain access to free features but lose access to premium features.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Any significant changes will 

be communicated to users through notifications within the App or via email.
