Our Experience Break Down:
Week 1 (9/20)
All of our first days on the truck
got an overview on how the truck works and how to answer customers questions
We learned the basics and got introduced to the main managers working with Fresh
Week 2
We felt more comfortable with our responsibilities
Got to talk more personally with some of the managers and customers; learned some life stories
Week 3
The first chaotic busy market in the South End; ran out of a lot; a few fights broke out in the line due to how long it was taking
definitely a learning experience; it was amazing to see how one of the managers, Vince, stayed so calm and handled everyone's separate issues with such ease
Week 4
Got more familiar with the answers to the customer's questions
Week 5
Relationship with managers has strengthened, while we became much more comfortable with our duties
We have also become more comfortable and recognizable with some of the customers
Week 6
At this point in our volunteering experience, our days were at a pretty consistent pace but we were still consistently learning a lot about Fresh Truck and the community we were volunteering in
Week 7
We have now gotten into a solid flow in our volunteer work, and continued this flow until the end of our volunteering.
