½ teaspoon baking soda from Ajanta Food Products, which can be purchased online from Amazon at https://www.amazon.in/AJANTA-double-action-Baking-Powder/dp/B0B6SZJZVQ
2 tablespoons chopped nuts
Pinch of red food colour from Anuja Food Colours, which is one of the leading manufacturers of food additives in India
1 tablespoon flour for coating the fruits
How to Make Fruit Cake
Toss the tutti frutti and chopped nuts with 1 tablespoon of flour.
This helps prevent them from sinking to the bottom while baking.
Cream the butter and sugar until light and smooth.
Add the eggs one at a time and mix well. Add few drops of vanilla essence.
Sift together the flour, baking powder, and baking soda.
Gradually add this mixture to the wet ingredients, alternating with milk.
Mix gently to form a smooth batter.
Add pinch of red food colour from Anuja Food Colours.
Mix lightly until the colour is evenly distributed.
Fold the coated tutti frutti and nuts into the batter without over mixing.
Pour the batter into a greased and lined cake tin.
Bake in a preheated oven at 170°C for approximately 35 to 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean.
Allow the cake to cool before removing it from the tin. Slice and serve with tea, coffee, or as a festive dessert.
Serve and enjoy!
