Font Finder & Color Picker is a Chrome extension designed to help users inspect and copy typography, colors, spacing, dimensions, borders, effects, layout properties and CSS from webpages.
This Privacy Policy explains what information the extension handles, why it is required, how it is processed and how user privacy is protected.
Font Finder & Color Picker may temporarily process the following information when a user actively uses its inspection features:
The extension reads rendered webpage content required to provide inspection results, including:
Text and HTML elements
CSS properties and computed styles
Fonts, font sizes and typography properties
Text, background, border and SVG colors
Element dimensions, margin, padding and gaps
Borders, radius, shadows, opacity and transforms
Layout properties such as Flexbox, Grid and positioning
Image information
CSS selectors, XPath and selected outer HTML
Page-wide font, font-size and color information when the user requests a page scan
This information is processed locally in the user’s browser.
The extension may access the URL and title of the currently active webpage to determine whether the page can be inspected and to provide the requested inspection functionality.
The extension does not create, store or transmit a history of websites visited by the user.
While the user-requested inspector is active, the extension temporarily processes:
Mouse movement used to highlight webpage elements
Clicks used to select an element for inspection
Mouse movement and clicks are processed only to provide the interactive element-selection feature. They are not recorded, logged, transmitted or used for analytics or tracking.
The extension may store the most recently selected eyedropper color and basic extension preferences using Chrome’s local extension storage.
This information remains on the user’s device. It may be overwritten when a new color is selected and can be removed by clearing the extension’s data or uninstalling the extension.
Information handled by Font Finder & Color Picker is used exclusively to:
Identify webpage elements selected by the user
Display typography, color, spacing, dimension and layout information
Generate copy-ready CSS
Display CSS selectors, XPath and selected HTML
Scan the current page for fonts, font sizes and colors
Provide the color eyedropper feature
Maintain limited local preferences
The information is not used for advertising, profiling, marketing, creditworthiness, lending or any purpose unrelated to the extension’s functionality.
All webpage inspection and color processing occurs locally inside the user’s browser.
Font Finder & Color Picker does not operate a remote server or backend for processing inspected information. Website content, browsing information, mouse activity and inspection results are not transmitted to the developer or third parties.
Font Finder & Color Picker does not:
Sell user data
Rent user data
Share user data with third parties
Transfer user data for advertising
Use data for personalized or interest-based advertising
Use data for purposes unrelated to the extension’s single purpose
Use data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes
Allow the developer or other humans to access inspected webpage content through the extension
The extension does not use:
Google Analytics
Advertising networks
Tracking pixels
Telemetry services
Behavioral tracking
Third-party analytics services
Remote logging services
Font Finder & Color Picker does not download or execute remote code.
All JavaScript, CSS and other executable files used by the extension are included in the extension package distributed through the Chrome Web Store.
Font Finder & Color Picker requests the following Chrome permissions:
Used to access the current tab after the user opens the extension and requests an inspection or page scan.
Used to inject or restore the packaged inspector script when required after installation, an extension update or a page reload.
Used to display inspection results beside the current webpage.
Used to store the last selected eyedropper color and limited extension preferences locally on the user’s device.
Used to identify accessible frames within the current tab so the inspector can operate consistently inside permitted iframe documents.
Access to HTTP and HTTPS webpages is required so users can inspect webpage elements on websites they choose.
Local file:// access is used only when the user explicitly enables “Allow access to file URLs” in Chrome’s extension settings.
Website content, current-page information, mouse movement and element-selection clicks are processed temporarily during an inspection session and are not retained by the developer.
Only the last selected color and limited preferences may remain in Chrome’s local extension storage until they are overwritten, cleared by the user or removed when the extension is uninstalled.
Because inspection data is processed locally and is not transmitted to external servers, it is not exposed through a developer-controlled database or remote storage system.
Users should still avoid inspecting sensitive webpages if they do not want an extension to access the visible content of those pages.
Chrome prevents normal extensions from running on certain protected pages, including:
chrome:// pages
The Chrome Web Store
Other browser-controlled or restricted pages
Font Finder & Color Picker does not attempt to bypass these browser restrictions.
Font Finder & Color Picker is a general developer and design utility. It is not designed to collect personal information from children, and the extension does not knowingly collect or transmit personal information from children.
The use of information received through Chrome extension APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Information is used only to provide or improve the extension’s disclosed, user-facing inspection functionality.
This Privacy Policy may be updated if the extension’s functionality, permissions or data-handling practices change.
Any updated policy will be published on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
