FOMO Launcher ("we," "our," or "us") operates the FOMO Launcher Android application. This application serves as a home screen replacement (Launcher) while providing private, real-time connection spaces for couples, friends, and groups to share calendars, notes, whiteboards, and status updates.
This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information when you use our Service. By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
We collect specific types of data to provide the core functionality of a Launcher and the social features of the private rooms.
To function as a Launcher, the app must access the list of applications installed on your device.
Data Collected: Package names, app icons, and app labels of installed applications.
Purpose: To display your apps on the home screen and app drawer, facilitate app search, and allow you to launch apps.
Storage: This data is processed locally on your device to organize your user interface.
We request access to your device's notifications via the Notification Listener Service.
Purpose: This permission is strictly used to detect "Now Playing" media information (Artist, Track Title, Album Art) from music and media apps (e.g., Spotify, YouTube Music). This allows us to automatically update your status in your private room to show what you are listening to.
Privacy Limitation: We do not read, save, or transmit the content of personal messages (SMS, WhatsApp, Email) or system notifications. We filter specifically for media control notifications.
To facilitate real-time collaboration, we collect and store the data you voluntarily create within your private rooms:
Shared Notes & Whiteboard: Text, drawings, and images added to shared canvases.
Calendar Events: Dates, times, and event titles shared with your group.
Status Updates: Your manual or automated status updates.
Storage: This data is stored in the cloud to synchronize in real-time across the devices of the members in your private room.
We request specific device permissions to ensure the app functions as intended:
REQUEST_DELETE_PACKAGES: Used to allow you to uninstall applications directly from the FOMO Launcher home screen or app drawer.
FLASHLIGHT: Used solely to provide a quick-access shortcut to toggle the device flashlight from the home screen.
VIBRATE: Used to provide haptic feedback when you interact with UI elements (e.g., long-pressing icons).
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE & INTERNET: Required to detect internet connectivity and synchronize your private room data (notes, whiteboard, calendar) with our servers.
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only in the following ways:
With Your Group: Any content you post to a private room (notes, calendar, music status) is visible only to the specific users you have connected with in that room.
Service Providers: We may employ third-party companies (such as cloud hosting and database providers) to facilitate our Service. These third parties have access to your Personal Information only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
Legal Compliance: We may disclose your Personal Information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities.
Launcher Settings: Customizations to your home screen are stored locally on your device.
Cloud Data: Shared notes, calendar events, and whiteboard data are retained in the cloud as long as your account or private room exists. You may delete specific items (notes/events) at any time, which removes them from our active database.
We value your trust in providing us your Personal Information. All communication between the FOMO Launcher and our servers is encrypted using SSL/TLS protocols. However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
Our Services do not address anyone under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we immediately delete this from our servers. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
