Our Team
Beginning in the summer of 2016, five students and their teacher Tyler Johnstone began a project to see the curvature of the Earth from a high altitude balloon. After research a micro-satellite project, the team determined sending high altitude balloons into the stratosphere would fulfill the mission with a fraction of the cost. Andy, Makar, Fouad, Guadalupe, and Charlie spent summer days at school preparing a small styrofoam box, researching FAA regulations, and developing a tracking and recovery system. Within weeks of school beginning, the team was ready, and more importantly the winds cooperated with their first launch.
