## 1. Introduction
Folio PDF Reader & Editor ("Folio", "we", "our", or "the app") is developed and published by LogicGateGames. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.
By downloading or using Folio, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
---
## 2. What Data We Collect
### 2.1 Data We Do NOT Collect
We want to be clear about what Folio does **not** do:
- **We do not upload your PDF files.** All PDF processing (compression, merging, splitting, editing, redaction, scanning, text extraction, and all other tools) happens **entirely on your device**. Your documents are never sent to our servers or any third-party server.
- **We do not create user accounts.** Folio does not require registration or sign-in.
- **We do not store or access the content of your documents.**
- **We do not sell your personal data.**
### 2.2 Data Collected Automatically
**Firebase Analytics (Usage Data)**
We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the app. This collects:
- App usage events (which screens are opened, which features are used)
- Device type, operating system version, and app version
- Country/region (approximate, not precise location)
- Session duration and frequency of use
This data is anonymised and aggregated. It helps us understand which features are most useful and improve the app.
**Firebase Crashlytics (Crash Reports)**
When the app crashes, we collect:
- A crash report including the stack trace (error location in code)
- Device model and Android version
- App version
This helps us identify and fix bugs. Crash reports do not contain the content of any files you were working with.
**Google AdMob (Advertising)**
If you use the free version of Folio (without the Remove Ads purchase), Google AdMob serves advertisements. AdMob may collect:
- Advertising ID (a resettable device identifier)
- Device information (model, OS version, screen size)
- IP address (used to determine general location for ad targeting)
- App usage context (which screen an ad was shown on)
You can reset your Advertising ID at any time in your device's Settings → Privacy → Ads.
Premium users who have purchased "Remove Ads" or "Folio Premium" do not see ads, and AdMob does not collect advertising data from those users.
### 2.3 Purchases
In-app purchases (Remove Ads, Folio Premium subscription) are processed entirely by Google Play Billing. We do not receive or store your payment information. Purchase confirmation data (whether you have an active subscription or entitlement) is stored locally on your device via Google Play.
### 2.4 Local Storage
Folio stores the following data locally on your device only:
- **App preferences:** Theme settings, scroll mode, and display preferences
- **Recent files list:** Names and locations of recently opened PDF files (stored locally, never uploaded)
- **App lock PIN:** Stored in encrypted form on your device. We cannot access your PIN.
- **Premium status:** Whether you have an active subscription or one-time purchase
- **Temporary tool outputs:** PDFs processed by tools are temporarily saved to your device's cache folder and automatically deleted after 24 hours
---
