Hey, welcome to my page!

I am a postdoctoral researcher in the department of mathematics and computer science in the university of Basel, working in the group of prof. Aurelien Lucchi. I am interested in seeking convexity-like structures in non-convex optimization problems, with a special focus on deep neural networks.

Prior to my current position, I did a PhD in the university of Geneva under the supervision of prof. Bart Vandereycken. My thesis concerns certain convexity-like structures that appear in some important problems of linear algebra. One of the important aspects of my PhD work has to do with dealing with symmetry and invariance by formulating such problems as optimization problems over suitable Riemannian manifolds.
