FogWalker is a personal mapping app. It uses your device's GPS to progressively reveal the areas you have explored, lifting a "fog of war" over a world map.
This privacy policy transparently describes what data is collected, how it is used, and — most importantly — what is not done with it.
FogWalker collects the following GPS location data, and only this data:
Data Description
Latitude Geographic coordinate of your position
Longitude Geographic coordinate of your position
Accuracy Estimated accuracy of the GPS fix (in meters)
Timestamp Date and time of the recorded point
This data is collected only when you enable tracking in the app (manually or via the optional auto-start feature).
The location data collected has one single purpose:
Displaying the fog of war on your personal map, by revealing the areas you have explored.
It is not used for any other purpose.
All data is stored exclusively on your device, in a private SQLite database accessible only by the FogWalker app.
No data is transmitted to an external server.
No data is synced to the cloud.
No data is backed up to any third-party service.
FogWalker does none of the following:
Send your data to any server or backend
Share your data with third parties
Use your data for advertising purposes
Track your in-app behavior (analytics)
Identify you or build a user profile
Access your location in the background without your explicit consent
There are no user accounts, no identifiers, and no authentication system in FogWalker.
FogWalker uses map tiles from OpenStreetMap to display the map background. When you navigate the map, standard HTTP requests are made to OpenStreetMap tile servers (tile.openstreetmap.org) to download map images.
These requests are technical in nature and contain no personal data (no identifiers, no GPS coordinates, no user data).
Downloaded tiles are cached locally on your device to allow offline use.

You have full control over your data:
Access: Your data is stored locally on your device. It belongs entirely to you.
Deletion: You can delete all your data at any time by uninstalling the app. Uninstalling completely wipes the local database.
Permission revocation : You can revoke the location permission at any time via your device settings. The app will immediately stop collecting GPS data.
FogWalker is not specifically directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from minors. As no data is transmitted to the developer, no data from minors can be collected server-side.
This privacy policy may be updated occasionally. In the event of a material change, the effective date at the top of this document will be updated.
