Privacy Policy for Fogboard

Fogboard ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is a daily blindfold chess puzzle application. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting it.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect (if any), how we use it, and your rights. By using Fogboard, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Summary

Fogboard is designed with privacy in mind:

 No user accounts or sign-in required

 No personal information collected

 No advertising

 No tracking across apps or websites

 Game progress and streaks are stored only on your device

We do not collect, store, or transmit:

 Name, email address, or any contact information

 Location data

 Device advertising identifiers (IDFA / AAID)

 Contacts, photos, or media

 Browsing or search history

 Payment information (the App currently has no in-app purchases)

 Any data that can identify you personally

Local Data Stored on Your Device Only

The App stores the following information locally on your device using standard device storage:

 Daily puzzle progress and results

 Current streak and attempt history

 Vision card usage and scores for the current day

 App settings (sound, notifications preference, etc.)

This data never leaves your device and is not accessible to us. Uninstalling the App permanently deletes this local data.

Limited Technical Data (if any)

If the App needs to fetch the daily puzzle from our servers:

 A temporary, anonymous request may be made to retrieve the puzzle of the day

 We may receive standard server logs (IP address, device type, timestamp) that are automatically generated by hosting providers

 These logs are used only for security, reliability, and to serve the correct daily puzzle

 We do not use this information to identify or profile individual users

 Logs are retained only for a short period and then deleted

We do not use this data for advertising, analytics profiling, or any commercial purpose beyond operating the App.

3. How We Use Information

Any limited technical data mentioned above is used solely to:

 Deliver the correct daily puzzle to your device

 Ensure the App functions reliably and securely

 Protect against abuse or technical issues

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

4. Third-Party Services

Fogboard does not use:

 Advertising networks

 Third-party analytics SDKs (such as Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)

 Crash reporting tools that collect personal data

 Social login or authentication services

 Any tracking or cross-app identification technologies

The App may rely on Apple App Store or Google Play infrastructure for distribution and updates. Those platforms have their own privacy policies.

5. Children's Privacy

Fogboard is suitable for users of all ages and has a 4+ age rating.

We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your jurisdiction). Because the App collects no personal data, there is no special risk related to children's privacy.

6. Data Security

Since nearly all data remains on your device, the primary security of your information depends on the security of your own device.

For any server-side requests related to the daily puzzle, we use standard industry practices (HTTPS, etc.) to protect data in transit.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

 Local game data stays on your device until you clear the App data or uninstall Fogboard.

 Any temporary server logs are automatically deleted after a short retention period.

 Because we do not maintain user accounts or personal profiles, there is no account data to delete on our side.

If you have contacted us by email and wish your correspondence to be deleted, simply reply to the email or contact us using the details below.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under applicable data protection laws (including GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, and others). These may include the right to:

 Access information we hold about you

 Request deletion of information

 Object to certain processing

Because Fogboard collects virtually no personal data, most of these rights will not apply in practice. If you have any request, please contact us and we will respond promptly.

9. International Users

Fogboard is operated from India. If you access the App from outside India, any limited technical data may be processed in India or in the locations of our hosting providers. By using the App you acknowledge this.

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will reflect the most recent version. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
