App: FocusTime · Developer: CurioInnoMinds
Thank you for using FocusTime. This Privacy Policy explains how CurioInnoMinds ("we", "us", or "our") handles information in connection with the FocusTime Android application ("the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and to being transparent about the limited data the App processes.
FocusTime is designed to keep the data you create on your device. However, to help us fix crashes and understand how the App is used so we can improve it, the App includes optional, privacy-respecting analytics and diagnostics provided by Google Firebase.
On-device data (never leaves your device): All data you create in the App — including your focus sessions, blocking sessions, app usage statistics, screen-time history, and preferences — is stored exclusively on your device using local device storage. We do not upload, transmit, or store this data on our own servers.
Analytics data (collected only with your consent, where required): When analytics is enabled, the App uses Firebase Analytics to collect aggregated, non-identifying information about how features are used — for example, that a focus session was started, its planned duration, or that a blocking session was created. The App never sends the names of individual apps you block or use to any server; where an app category is relevant to an event, it is reported only as a broad category bucket (such as "Social" or "Video"). Firebase Analytics may also automatically collect standard technical information such as device model, operating system version, app version, and an approximate location (country/region) derived from your IP address.
Diagnostic (crash) data: The App uses Firebase Crashlytics to record crash reports and technical diagnostics (such as stack traces, device state, and OS version at the time of a crash). This helps us identify and fix stability issues.
We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, precise location, photos, or any other directly identifying personal information through the App.
The App requests the following Android permissions solely to provide its core functionality:
Usage Access (UsageStats): Used to monitor which apps are in the foreground so the App can enforce your blocking sessions and track screen time. The raw usage data is processed on your device to power blocking and reporting; it is not uploaded to us. Where usage informs an analytics event (see Section 3), only aggregated, category-level information is sent — never the raw list of apps or their package names.
Display Over Other Apps (System Alert Window): Used to display the focus overlay and blocker overlay screens on top of other apps when a session is active.
Receive Boot Completed: Used to reschedule blocking sessions after your device restarts, so active sessions remain enforced without requiring you to reopen the App.
Foreground Service: Used to run the session monitoring service reliably while a session is active.
FocusTime uses the following Google Firebase services:
Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase): Collects aggregated usage events to help us understand how the App is used and improve it. Analytics collection is turned off by default. In regions with applicable privacy laws, the App asks for your consent before enabling analytics. You can turn analytics on or off at any time from the App's Settings → Privacy & Data screen. When you disable analytics, the App stops sending analytics events.
Firebase Crashlytics: Collects crash and diagnostic reports to help us improve stability. Crash reporting is treated as a legitimate interest in keeping the App working and may operate independently of the analytics toggle. If you would prefer not to send crash data, please contact us.
Firebase Remote Config: Used to deliver configuration values to the App (such as feature settings and supported-version information). This service may process a Firebase installation identifier to deliver configuration but is not used to build an advertising or marketing profile of you.
We do not use the App for advertising. The App does not display ads, does not use your Android Advertising ID, and has ad-personalization signals disabled. We do not sell or share your data for advertising or marketing purposes.
Google processes this data as our service provider. For details, see Google's Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
FocusTime offers a Pro subscription through Google Play In-App Billing. All purchase transactions are handled entirely by Google Play. We do not receive, process, or store your payment information. For details on how Google handles purchase data, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.
Your App content (session configurations, usage history, and settings) is stored locally on your device using Android's Room database and DataStore, and does not leave your device. If you uninstall the App, all locally stored data is permanently deleted.
Analytics and crash data processed through Firebase are retained by Google in accordance with our Firebase configuration and Google's data-retention policies. Aggregated analytics data is retained for a limited period and is not linked to your identity by us.
Firebase is operated by Google, and the analytics and diagnostic data described above may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States. Where such transfers occur, Google provides safeguards consistent with applicable data-protection laws.
Analytics toggle: You can enable or disable analytics at any time in Settings → Privacy & Data.
Consent: In regions where consent is required, the App asks for your choice before enabling analytics, and respects that choice.
Uninstalling: Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data from your device.
FocusTime is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can address it.
FocusTime relies on the following third-party services:
Google Firebase (Analytics, Crashlytics, and Remote Config) — for usage analytics, crash diagnostics, and configuration, as described in Section 3.
Google Play — for app distribution and in-app purchases.
Both are governed by Google's Privacy Policy. The App does not integrate any advertising networks or third-party marketing SDKs.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have any questions or concerns about this Privacy Policy or the App's data practices, please contact us at:
