FocusMoat Privacy Policy

The short version
FocusMoat does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any data. Ever. There is no server, no account, no analytics, no advertising, and no tracking of any kind.
How it works without collecting anything
Blocking is done by Chrome itself. When you add a site, FocusMoat registers a blocking rule with your browser's built-in network layer, and Chrome enforces it locally. FocusMoat never sees, reads, or records the pages you visit.
Your blocklist, schedules, sessions, and settings are stored only in your browser's local storage, on your device. They never leave it and are not synced anywhere.
Uninstalling removes everything. There is nothing stored outside your browser.
Permissions FocusMoat requests, and why
declarativeNetRequest — lets Chrome block the sites you choose. It does not read any website's content.
storage — saves your settings on your device. Nothing leaves it.
alarms — runs session timers and schedules in the background.
activeTab — shows the current site's name in the popup so you can block it in one click. It is never stored or sent.
FocusMoat requests no host permissions: it cannot read the content of any website you visit.
Children's privacy
FocusMoat collects no data from anyone of any age.
Changes
If a future version ever wanted to collect data, this policy would change first and the extension would ask for new permissions, which Chrome shows you clearly. We have no plans to do so.
