Focus: Minimal Launcher ("Focus," "the app," "we," "us," or "our") is an Android launcher designed to support mindful phone use, digital wellbeing, focus profiles, schedules, paused apps, and private on-device insights.
This Privacy Policy explains what information Focus accesses, how it is used, when limited information is processed by third-party purchase providers, and the choices available to you.
- Your installed-app choices, app-usage history, focus profiles, schedules, pause activity, insights, backgrounds, and unlock settings are processed and stored locally on your device.
- Focus does not sell personal information.
- Focus does not display advertising or use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
- Focus does not transmit your app inventory, usage history, accessibility events, focus settings, insights, master password, or selected background image to the developer or RevenueCat.
- Google Play and RevenueCat process limited purchase, subscription, device, and technical information when Premium services are configured or used.
This Privacy Policy applies to the Focus Android application distributed under the package name `com.mpw.focus.launcher`. It does not apply to websites, applications, or services operated independently by Google, RevenueCat, your device manufacturer, or other third parties.
Focus does not provide an account system and does not require you to create a Focus account.
To function as a launcher and allow you to configure Focus, the app accesses information about applications installed on your device, including:
- Application names
- Package names
- Application icons
- Whether an application is currently installed or has been added, removed, or updated
- Your choices for home, essential, paused, blocked, hidden, and quick-launch applications
This information is personal and sensitive device information. Focus uses it only to display and launch apps, apply the rules you configure, and provide related features. Focus does not transmit your installed-app inventory to the developer, RevenueCat, advertisers, or analytics providers.
If you voluntarily enable Focus's Accessibility service, Focus receives Android window-state-change events and the package name of the foreground application. This is used to:
- Recognize when you attempt to open an app that you chose to pause or block
- Display the appropriate pause or unlock experience
- Record the result of that attempt in your local insights
Focus does not use the Accessibility service to read screen text, capture keystrokes, inspect messages, collect passwords entered in other apps, take screenshots, record audio, access contacts, or monitor another person. Accessibility event information is processed locally and is not transmitted off the device by Focus.
If you voluntarily grant Usage Access, Focus may read recent foreground and background usage events for selected apps. Focus uses this history locally to estimate typical app-session duration and calculate insights such as estimated time saved, focus outcomes, and success rate.
Focus does not upload or share your app-usage history. You can use other parts of the app without granting Usage Access, although usage-based insights may be unavailable or less accurate.
Focus stores information you enter or configure, including:
- Focus profiles and their names
- Essential, paused, blocked, hidden, home, and quick-launch app selections
- Focus schedules, selected days, start and end times, and schedule behavior
- Pause attempts, timestamps, outcomes, unlock methods, and locally calculated insights
- Intent reasons you type during an unlock flow
- Home-screen appearance, text styles, colors, icon preferences, and layout choices
- Sound, volume, vibration, and notification-profile settings
- A local reference to a background image you select
- Unlock settings, including a master password if you create one
- Premium entitlement status and temporary reviewer-access expiry, when applicable
This information remains in Focus's private on-device storage. A selected background image remains in the storage location you chose; Focus retains permission to read and display that image. Focus does not upload the image.
If you create a master password, it is stored locally in Focus's private application preferences. Do not reuse a password that protects another account or service.
If you choose biometric verification, Android's system biometric interface performs the verification. Focus receives only the success, failure, or cancellation result. Focus does not receive or store your fingerprint, face scan, or biometric template.
With your permission, Focus may:
- Post notifications about schedule changes or related Focus activity
- Change supported sound, volume, and vibration settings for profiles you configure
- Use Do Not Disturb access to apply notification behavior you select
- Restart schedule-related processing after the device starts
Focus does not read the content of your notifications. These permissions can be revoked in Android settings.
Focus offers optional Premium subscriptions through Google Play and uses RevenueCat to validate purchases and maintain Premium access.
When purchase features are configured or used, Google Play and RevenueCat may process:
- An automatically generated anonymous app-user identifier
- App package, app version, platform, operating-system version, device type, and SDK information
- IP address and associated general network or regional information
- Google Play product identifiers
- Purchase tokens and transaction status
- Subscription status, renewal status, trial status, purchase dates, and expiry dates
- The time the app or purchase service was last used
Focus does not receive or store your full payment-card or bank-account details. Google Play processes payments under Google's terms and privacy practices. RevenueCat processes purchase and technical information to provide subscription infrastructure.

Focus uses locally processed information to:
- Operate as your Android home-screen launcher
- Display, search, organize, and launch installed apps
- Apply focus profiles and schedules
- Detect and pause apps you selected
- Provide temporary app-unlock methods
- Personalize the launcher interface and sound behavior
- Generate private on-device focus and usage insights
- Remember preferences and restore the app's local state
- Determine whether Premium features are available
- Diagnose errors through Android system logs on your device
Focus does not use this information to advertise to you, create an advertising profile, or track you across unrelated apps and services.
Focus does not sell or rent personal information.
Focus does not share your installed-app inventory, usage history, accessibility events, focus configuration, local insights, selected image, intent reasons, or master password with third parties.
Limited purchase and technical information is processed by Google Play and RevenueCat as described above. These providers may process information in countries other than your own, including the United States, subject to their respective legal and security obligations.
Information may also be disclosed if required by applicable law, legal process, or a valid governmental request. Because most Focus information stays only on your device, the developer generally cannot access or disclose it.
Focus stores preferences and app records in Android's private application storage. Android's app sandbox helps prevent ordinary access by other apps. Cloud backup and device-to-device transfer are disabled for Focus's private preferences and database.
Purchase information transmitted to Google Play and RevenueCat is protected in transit using encrypted network connections. No security method is guaranteed to be completely secure, and device compromise, operating-system modification, or unauthorized physical access may expose locally stored information.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate device security and protecting any master password you configure.
Local information remains on your device until you change or delete it, clear Focus's app storage, or uninstall Focus. Clearing app storage or uninstalling Focus removes its private preferences and database. It does not delete an original background image stored elsewhere on your device.
Focus does not maintain a server account containing your local launcher or insight data, so the developer cannot remotely retrieve or delete that local information.
Google Play and RevenueCat retain purchase and subscription records according to their legal, accounting, fraud-prevention, and service requirements. Clearing Focus's data or uninstalling the app does not cancel a Google Play subscription and does not erase store transaction records. You can manage or cancel a subscription through Google Play.
For a privacy request relating to RevenueCat purchase information, contact us using the address below. We may need a Google Play order number, purchase information, or another identifier to locate the relevant record.
You can control Focus through the app and Android system settings. Depending on your device, you can:
- Stop using Focus as your default launcher
- Disable the Focus Accessibility service
- Revoke Usage Access
- Revoke notification permission
- Revoke Modify System Settings or Do Not Disturb access
- Stop using biometric verification
- Remove access to a selected background image
- Change or delete profiles, schedules, and other settings
- Clear Focus's storage or uninstall the app
- Manage or cancel Premium through Google Play
Revoking a permission may prevent the related feature from working, but it will not enable Focus to collect that information by another method.
Depending on where you live, you may have legal rights concerning personal information processed through RevenueCat or other service providers. Contact us to submit a request. These rights may be subject to identity verification and legal exceptions.
Focus is a general-purpose productivity and digital-wellbeing application and is not specifically directed to children. Focus does not knowingly sell children's personal information or create advertising profiles for children. Parents and guardians should supervise device permissions and purchases where required by applicable law.
We may update this Privacy Policy when Focus's features, integrations, legal requirements, or data practices change. The revised policy will be posted at this location with an updated effective date. Material changes will be disclosed in the app or through another appropriate method when required.
