FOCUS3
Privacy Policy
Welcome to Focus3 (the "App"). Focus3 is an Android habit-tracking application designed to help you build and maintain simple daily habits. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the App, how that information is used, and the choices available to you.
By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with any part of this policy, please discontinue use of the App.
This App is operated and maintained for users in the United States. If you are accessing the App from outside the United States, please be aware that any information processed by third-party services (described below) may be transferred to and stored in the United States.
We are committed to minimal data collection. Focus3 does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:
Your name, email address, phone number, or any other contact information
Your location or GPS data
Photos, contacts, or files stored on your device
Account credentials or passwords
Financial or payment information
The App does not require you to create an account or log in. No user profile is ever created or sent to our servers.
Focus3 saves your daily habit completion status (whether each of the three habits has been marked complete for the current day) using the Android Shared Preferences mechanism. This data is stored exclusively on your device and is never transmitted to us or any third party.
To support the automatic daily reset feature, the App stores the date on which habit data was last saved. This date string (formatted as YYYY-MM-DD) is also kept solely on your device.
We do not operate any cloud storage, database, or backend server. All data generated by the App resides on your device only. If you uninstall the App, all locally stored data is permanently deleted.
Please note: If your device is configured to back up app data to a third-party service (such as Google Drive backup), that service’s own privacy policy governs any data backed up through that mechanism. We have no control over and no access to those backups.
Focus3 displays advertisements served by Google AdMob, a third-party advertising platform operated by Google LLC. Advertising is how we keep the App free for all users.
AdMob may collect certain technical and device information in order to serve relevant advertisements. This data collection is governed entirely by Google’s own privacy policies and is subject to Google’s data practices, not ours.
Google AdMob may collect and use information that includes, but is not limited to:
Advertising ID (a resettable device identifier provided by Android)
Device type, model, operating system version, and language settings
IP address (used to infer general geographic region)
App interaction data, such as which ads are displayed or tapped
Network type and carrier information
This information is collected directly by Google and is not shared with us. We do not receive, store, or have access to any of the data AdMob collects.
By default, AdMob may serve personalized advertisements based on the Advertising ID and other signals. You can opt out of personalized advertising at any time through your Android device settings:
Open Settings on your Android device
Navigate to Google > Ads (or Privacy > Ads, depending on your Android version)
Enable "Opt out of Ads Personalization" or "Delete advertising ID"
You can also reset your Advertising ID at any time from the same settings screen. Resetting the ID does not delete any locally stored habit data.
For full details on how Google collects and uses data, please review Google’s Privacy Policy at https://policies.google.com/privacy and Google’s Advertising Controls at https://adssettings.google.com.
Focus3 is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age.
The App does not collect personal information from any user, including children. However, the advertising functionality provided by Google AdMob is configured for general audiences. We have not enabled child-directed treatment settings in AdMob because the App is not specifically designed for or marketed to children. If you believe your child under 13 has used this App, please contact us at the address below and we will take appropriate steps.
If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns about your child’s use of this App or the advertisements displayed within it, you may restrict or manage ad preferences through your Android Family Link settings or device parental controls.
Because all App data is stored locally on your device, its security depends on the security measures you have in place on your device (such as a PIN, password, biometric lock, or device encryption). We strongly recommend keeping your device protected with a screen lock and keeping your Android operating system up to date.
We do not transmit your habit data over the internet and therefore there is no risk of it being intercepted in transit or compromised in a server-side data breach.
7.1 Data Retention Period:
Habit completion data and the date of last use are stored locally on your device's internal storage. This data is retained for as long as the App is installed on your device to provide you with your progress history and weekly reports. We do not store this data on any external servers, so we do not have a separate retention period beyond the life of the App on your device.
7.2 Data Deletion:
You have full control over your data. You can delete all data associated with Focus3 at any time by following these steps:
Within the Device Settings: Go to Settings > Apps > Focus3 > Storage > Clear Data / Clear Cache. This will permanently erase all your habit history.
Uninstalling the App: Simply uninstalling Focus3 from your Android device will automatically and permanently delete all locally stored Shared Preferences and habit data.
Since we do not collect or store any data on our servers, once you delete the data from your device or uninstall the App, it is gone forever and cannot be recovered by us.
8. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights under applicable US privacy laws (such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) for California residents). Because we do not collect personal information, most of these rights (such as the right to access or delete personal data held by us) are satisfied by design — we simply have no personal data to provide or delete.
For any privacy-related inquiries or to exercise any applicable rights, please contact us using the information in Section 10 below.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or App features. When we do, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
Continued use of the App after a revised Privacy Policy is posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or the App’s data practices, please contact us at:
