November 2020

Thank You!

A Note From Jennifer

Happy November! With all that is 2020, I am finding gratitude practice more important than ever. SCAPA, and the people connected to SCAPA, are ever-present on my list. I am thankful for Ms. Randolph, Mr. Jacobs, and the SCAPA Bluegrass and SCAPA Lafayette teachers and staff. Their dedication to our students' education and well-being is astounding. I am thankful for the many volunteers who give of their time to SCAPA through FOAS. This fall, parents have generously donated their time by leading fundraisers, spirit nights, and committees in support of the school, making for a stronger school community. Additionally, I am thankful for students who want to learn and who are finding ways to connect and to express themselves through the arts. If you missed the Virtual Chiller performance, be sure to check it out. I love how innovative the teachers and students were in keeping this tradition.

FOAS is here to support the school and its programs. Since we are not doing traditional sponsorship fundraising this year, your purchases of SCAPA Wear, participation in Spirit Nights and the Virtual Walk, Run, & Roll, and shopping through Amazon Smile, Kroger Rewards, and BHG Gives help make financial support of teachers and the school possible. FOAS has already granted over $1000 to teachers for class needs and and we are accepting another round of open grant applications so that we can continue to fund needs throughout the school year. If you have ideas of other ways that we can support the school and your students, please reach out.

As the fall semester draws to a close, may you and your loved ones be safe and healthy.

SCAPA love,

Jennifer Moore

FOAS President, 2020-2021
