Privacy Policy
This privacy policy applies to the FNam FFT Spectrogram Analyzer app (hereby referred to as "Application") for mobile devices that was created by FormulaNam (hereby referred to as "Service Provider") as a Free service. This service is intended for use "AS IS".
Information Collection and Use
The Application does not require an account and does not automatically send your audio recordings, analysis results, or calibration settings to the Service Provider.
Audio processing takes place on your device. Recordings may contain voices or other personal information present in the sounds you choose to record. Calibration presets and application settings are stored locally.
When you use Sound Event Logger, the Application saves local JSON logs containing session identifiers, timestamps, sound-level measurements, event durations, analysis settings, app version, CPU architecture, and references to any saved event recordings.
The Application does not access your device's precise location.
If you voluntarily contact the Service Provider by email or submit feedback through the linked Google Form, the Service Provider receives the information you provide. Email correspondence includes your sender email address.
The Application does not include a third-party analytics or crash-reporting SDK. Depending on your Apple analytics-sharing settings, Apple may collect diagnostic and usage information and make relevant reports available to the Service Provider under Apple's privacy policies.
Microphone and File Access
Microphone permission is required for real-time audio analysis, recording, and Sound Event Logger. You can revoke this permission in your device's Settings.
WAV recordings, CSV exports, and Sound Event Logger JSON files are saved in the Application's local Documents folder. Event WAV files are saved when the corresponding recording option is enabled.
To analyze existing WAV files, the Application uses the iOS/iPadOS file picker to access files within a folder you select. Saving files in the Application's own storage does not require a separate general storage permission.
The Application does not automatically upload recordings or analysis results to the Service Provider. However, files may be transferred to other apps or services when you choose to export or share them. Accessing files from a cloud-based file provider may involve that provider's network services.
Depending on your device settings, local application data may also be included in iCloud or computer backups. These backups are managed by Apple or your chosen backup system, not by the Service Provider.
Third-Party Services and User-Directed Sharing
The Application does not include third-party tracking or advertising SDKs and does not automatically share your recordings or analysis results with third parties.
The Application includes optional links to a Google Form and external websites. Opening these links connects you to services outside the Application. Those services may process technical information, such as IP addresses and browser information, under their own privacy policies.

Information you submit through the form is made available to the Service Provider. Please avoid including personal or sensitive information unless it is necessary for your inquiry.
If you choose to share or export a file, the selected recipient, app, or service receives that file and handles it under its own policies.
Your Choices and Data Deletion
You can stop microphone processing by stopping analysis or recording, or by revoking microphone permission in your device's Settings. Submitting feedback and sharing files are optional.
You can delete recordings, exported files, and event logs through the Files app. Deleting the Application removes its local app-container data; offloading the Application may retain its documents and settings.
The Reset button clears the current analysis and playback session, loaded file list, and folder selection. It does not delete saved files or reset your preferences.
Deleting the Application does not delete copies previously shared, exported, or stored in backups, nor does it delete feedback or emails already submitted. Those copies must be managed separately.
You can manage Apple's analytics-sharing options in your device's Settings. To request deletion of feedback or correspondence held by the Service Provider, contact fotmulanam@gmail.com and provide enough information to identify the relevant submission.
Data Retention
Locally saved recordings, exports, event logs, and settings remain on your device until you delete them or remove the Application, subject to your device's storage and backup behavior.
Feedback and support correspondence received by the Service Provider are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to inquiries, investigate reported issues, and meet applicable legal obligations. Information that is no longer needed is deleted or de-identified.
Retention of information processed independently by external services is governed by those services' policies.
Children
The Service Provider does not use the Application to knowingly solicit personal information from or market to children under the age of 13.
If you believe that a child has submitted personal information to the Service Provider through feedback or email, please contact fotmulanam@gmail.com so that the information can be reviewed and deleted as appropriate under applicable law.
Changes
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time for any reason. The Service Provider will notify you of any changes to the Privacy Policy by updating this page with the new Privacy Policy.
This privacy policy is effective as of 2026-10-07.
