DRAMA FOUNDATIONS (7th Grade)

This course is made for those who are interested in having fun! Through the class students will get out of your comfort zone through acting and performance activities! It is a great class to make new friends and collaborate on projects together!

*Students are required to see a live play production for this class*

DRAMA 1 (7th/8th Grade)

This course is made for those who already have some introduction to Drama and Theater or those who crave to learn more about it! The course is an intermediate study of Acting & Performance skills. *Students are required to see a live play production for this class*

DRAMA 2 (8th Grade)

Audition Required - Auditions are held in January for the following Fall. If you are an incoming 8th grader who did not get a chance to audition please email jbonifay@alpinedistrict.org.

This course is the advanced Acting and Performing class offered at Frontier. Students should already have some knowledge and background in Drama before taking this course. Students will have the opportunity to perform their skills in an evening performance on the auditorium stage! *Students are required to see a live play production for this class*

STAGE CRAFT (7th/8th Grade)

This course is aimed to be a design-focused class. A chance to explore the world of Theater through the eyes of a technical designer. Through the course students will create practical designs for the following theatrical elements: Scenery, Props, Costumes, Makeup/Hair, Lighting, and Sound. *Students are required to see a live play production for this class*

STAGE CREW (8th Grade - some 7th Grade)

Application Required - Applications can be picked up in January for Fall semester & in October for Spring semester.

A specialized group of students that operate the technical aspects of any event in the auditorium, such as: Assemblies, Concerts, Building Rentals, and Plays. Students must be trained and willing to operate technical equipment and such as the Sound Board, Light Board, Spot Lights, and Backstage Curtains without direct supervision. Through the course students will be trained on equipment and further study the practical implementation of Theatrical Designs learned in Stage Craft. They will help build and run the Musical Production.

MUSICAL THEATER 1 (7th/8th Grade)

NO AUDITION REQUIRED! Come perform with us!

This course is geared towards recognizing and learning the skills you need to know to audition and perform in a musical! Students will develop their Voice, Acting, and Dance skills to help them succeed in the Musical Theater program.

MUSICAL THEATER 2 (7th/8th Grade)

Audition required - September 15th & 16th during FLEX during the school day. Students will need to have a karaoke or backing track to perform with. A’cappella is not appropriate. Please pick music that is age appropriate. We would like to have you memorized, with your track in hand ready to go when you come to perform. Sign-ups will be the Drama Room Doors for times. More info will be given at that time.

Students enrolled in Musical Theater will automatically be cast in Frontier’s yearly Musical! Specific roles will be determined through in-class auditions. The course will focus on developing specific technique and skills of Rehearsal, and Performance in production. After the production, students will create scenes and choreography as a collaborative group from the skills they have developed. *Students are required to see a live play production for this class*
