The Financial Markets Research Group at the University of Bristol Business School is hosting an in-person, two-half-day conference (from lunch to lunch) on June 30th to July 1st, 2025. The conference will feature the in-depth presentation and discussion of seven papers on the theme of “Financial Markets and the Macroeconomy”. In addition, we welcome a keynote speech by Lucio Sarno (University of Cambridge) and a panel discussion including industry experts from the industry.

Vidhan Goyal (HKUST): Longevity Shocks and Corporate Debt Markets

Alexey Ivashchenko (VU Amsterdam): Credit spreads, daily business cycle, and corporate bond returns predictability
Daniele Massacci (King’s College): Beyond bilateral flows: indirect connections and exchange rates
Monia Magnani (Bocconi University): Nonlinear Dynamics in Monetary Policy-Fuelled Stock Market Bubbles
The conference will provide an opportunity for the speakers to showcase their research and interact in person with other researchers around the conference theme.
