My first idea stemmed from the collector theme where my initial thoughts of the brief were to create a music video which incorporated memories that come from a photo album, as inspired by the Story Of My Life video by One Direction. The idea is that a main character is looking through childhood memories from a photo album with loved ones that are apart of the photos or those that were there for the memories. The camera would zoom in to the photos and would zoom out with the character dressed and acting as the photo from their childhood, but older. The inspiration of the character becoming their younger self is the lyrics from Spit of You - Sam Fender, which is the song that would be used for the music video. 'I could talk to anyone but you' influenced the idea that the character would present themselves as their younger selves, insinuating that they miss their childhood and wish they could relive it. The colour scheme of the video would be natural colours from within the pictures and baby blue and pink to demonstrate childhood. Locations within the photos that are chosen to be in the video will be used again so the replication of childhood is as similar as possible. 

My second idea is takes inspiration from the brief of simplification where I will use a constant shot for a music video. Using one shot will show that the idea stemmed from the simplification brief as the video concept will not be confusing or have a story line. This can mean the video is an experimental video. I want to utilise simple colours such as blacks and whites as a background but use bold and bright colours and patterns for the character to display the idea of a fashion show. I intend to use a location in the city centre which will allow for a busy background to then be put into time lapse.     

REFLECTION

My initial interpretation of the three briefs on offer struck me with confusion as the words didn't relate to any instant ideas. I new before seeing the briefs I wanted to create a music video as the creativity of them meant I could be as bold as I wanted to that only related to the briefs in a slight way. My first thought with the collectors brief was I could create a music video about collecting memories which led me down the path of childhood photo albums. This thought then made me think of the Story Of My Life music video. I was set on this idea from the off as I couldn't think of any more ideas to begin with and believed I could make an effective music video. However I didn't feel I was being very creative as my previous music video in practice had a similar story line and I struggled to come up with ways I could make it different from that project. 

Away from working on ideas based on the brief I envisioned a character walking through a busy area looking unique. This idea came from a personal experience of seeing a person in my city walking with a quirky outfit meanwhile I was listening to a song which had a distinctive sound to it. The idea to create a music video which was the opposite of simplistic, instead a bold video highlighting individualism stuck out to me. I then thought about the different editing techniques I could use to enhance this video and believed the uniqueness of the idea would resonate in the production. Henceforth I have opted to further my consideration in this idea and have opted to use it as my project.
